Art Journal Feature with Darkroom Door
Hi everyone and happy Saturday! It’s Shari here with a special art journal feature. Darkroom Door has created two stamp sets exclusively for Simon Says Stamp’s STAMPtember® event!
Love these stamps, so many possibilities! The one on the left is Warm Wishes and on the right is Enjoy The Journey. I’ve used a few stamps from each set for my art journal page today. I started with the flowers by clear embossing them on my background to create a resist.
I used some of the new Prima Arts Basic mediums to create some layers, and Dylusions sprays as paint. Once happy with my background, I stamped more of the Darkroom Door images with black ink over the top of all my treatments.
My Dylusins inks gave me a happy surprise, my brown turned out kind of purple when applied over the Crackle Paste. Delicious!!!
I shot a video of my process and this time I did it “live” since I used a lot of new product that needed some explanation. I’ve split it up in to two parts, Enjoy!

Enjoyed seeing all the various pastes, gessoes, mica flakes, etc in action. I love the effect crackle texture paste. Your video was great and the explanations of what you were doing was very helpful.

Alcohol removes the ink from the page? I didn’t know that! I loved watching the process and it was great to know what the products did and why you used them. So many times people just say what they are using but not why or what he product does!
