Thanks so much for stopping by, and thanks to Laura for being our guest!

This is such a clever way to use those layered stamps! I’ve always been intimidated by the outline step, but skipping it gives the florals a soft, watercolor feel that’s perfect for CAS cards. The Buttercream cardstock really makes the colors pop. Speaking of personality, your style here reminds me of the playful vibe over at https://sbtitest.cafe/—it’s a fun, free personality test that labels your creative quirks in a silly way. Great inspiration for anyone who loves mixing structured designs with a little whimsy. Off to watch the video for more tips!
that creamy cardstock is called “buttercream” so of course now I’m wondering if they color-matched it to actual frosting. something I saw on instagram a while ago had a similar “no outline” look but with leaves not flowers. not sure which I like more.
The discussion about layered stamping without the outline! happy floral card: amore laurafadora | raises some really valid points. This perspective is refreshing.

Laura Bassen skipping the outlines on Pretty Petals is a brilliant move, especially with those Starshine embellishments. I saw this while grabbing coffee and realized this clean look is perfect for the product images I need to create!
I’m curious—how does layering the Pretty Petals stamps without their outlines affect the depth of color compared to using them with the outlines? In my own practice I tried a similar technique with a different floral set, and the subtle shadows created a more organic feel on the cardstock. Have you experimented with the Starshine embellishment mix to enhance that effect?

Loved how you did the layered stamping without the outline—such a soft, modern look on this Happy Floral card. Do you remember the ink combos you used for the petals/leaves? brilliant — I love how the floral design pops

That no-outline layered stamping on the Happy Floral looks almost watercolor—so airy without losing detail. Quick question: did you get that soft base by second‑generation stamping or by choosing a very light ink family for layer one? I’m tempted to try this with a coral/citron combo next!
