Hello, readers! I’m so pleased and honored to have been invited to do a guest post here at the Simon Says Stamp blog and hope my card today will inspire you.

  1. Make top-folding 4.25″ x 5.5″ card base.
  2. Temporarily adhere card to scrap paper with washi tape and then adhere stencil on top with washi tape. (This will prevent anything from moving.)
  3. Apply Hero Arts Silver ink to stencil using a pouncing motion, remove stencil and heat set.
  4. Cut 5″ x 6″ panel of white cardstock and cover completely with Delicata ink by gently brushing your ink pad against the paper and heat set.
  5. Temporarily adhere Woodland Tree Silhouette to silver inked panel with washi tape and die cut.
  6. Adhere Woodland Tree Silhouette to card front using Tombow and Quickie Glue roller pen (for the tight spots).
  7. Color scrap of white paper with Copic R39 and die cut Resting Birds; adhere to card using foam circles.
  8. Color two more scraps of white paper with Copic R39 and die cut Alphabet Soup six times; adhere first layer of “Merry Christmas” to card, follow with second layer. (The QuickStik is truly invaluable for this part!)
  9. Adhere gems.

While making this card, I discovered that you can make your own shimmer paper by swabbing a heavy cardstock with Delicata ink and then heat setting.

Thanks for having me and have a blessed day!

  1. Deborah. . Thanks so much for the step by step instructions. . I really love how ur birds rest on the branches. . Also the choice of hero arts silver makes the card so rich

  2. That tree-die is one that is on the top of my list! Think this card is beautiful and one you can make a lot of if you have still so much cards to make!

  3. Love that idea of making your own shimmer paper, and also colouring white card-stock red (why not!). Your snowflake background is lovely, too. What a peaceful scene–beautiful job.
