A Peek Behind the Scenes at Simon Says Stamp and a Bit About Our Family :)
Hi friends!
Many of you have asked about our story. With our dog Simon sick, and him being the namesake, the logo, and a big personality at the forefront of our company, we just knew this summer was the time to work on sharing our story with you. In order to share our story with you, we worked with a wonderful company, IPSO, to bring it to life through a video.
Sharing this video with you is bittersweet. I adopted Simon as a very little puppy with one bent ear over 14 years ago. I knew him before I met my husband and before my kiddos came to this world. I knew Simon as my pup before I started the business Simon Says Stamp (and named it in his honor). Simon has always been a HUGE part of our lives. He would sleep in my bed, follow me around the house, lie next to me as I crafted, folded laundry, and worked on the computer, shadow my kids around our yard, and often come to the office with me. With Simon always wanting to be near us, we find him in the background (and foreground!) of many of our pictures. He was a kind, quiet, loyal, sweet and loving little guy.
It’s with a deeply heavy heart that I am sharing with you: Simon recently passed away. He had been sick the last few months, and his sickness created a sense of urgency to film this video. As hard as it was to put ourselves on camera….I am so glad we did. I think many of you can relate. In the moment, the process of sharing our story might be hard. But, our stories are our lives. Documenting our stories through pictures and videos gives us something that we can look back on later to remind us of the joys and happy moments that make up our life.
This is a great opportunity for us to share pieces of who we are, and what we do, with YOU. We are grateful to share this journey with you and are so so grateful for your support along the way. We wouldn’t be here without YOU. You’ll even see typical moments with our pup, Simon, in the office captured in the video.

Nothing hurts in the same way as losing as a fur baby. It’s a unique pain. This video was such a beautiful way to honour him and the last minutes, showing him following behind, is a gentle reminder that these amazing souls never, ever really leave us xxxxxxx

Fabulous video Heidi, it is lovely to see everyone in the office, they are fabulous and do such a great job :-) and little Simon bering featured, aww, he was a gorgeous little guy and I loved the time I spent playing with him and his toys. He really had a great character and I miss him very much.

So sorry to hear that you have lost your much loved pet. I know how you must be feeling as we recently had to say goodbye to our wonderful dog after nearly 15 years. We have found that thinking of fun times together has helped and you have those amazing photos to look back on. xx

I’m so sorry for your loss. We lost our little cat this year and two years ago we lost our first beloved cat. We have had our third cat for six months now and, although we love him, the tears still come when I think of my other boys. I know how you feel…take care x

So sorry to hear about Simon. I have 2 aging dogs who are always beside me and take care of me. I understand your love and your loss.
Thank you for sharing your story with us. One of the reasons I do love buying from your company is that it tickles me to see Simon so much – obviously you love dogs,as do I. I am sorry for the loss of Simon. I lost our first dog (the first my husband and I have together) a couple of years ago. He lives on as my avatar for my blog. We also lost our second this Summer. It is heartbreaking to lose them, as they have such short lives, but become such integral parts of our families, lives, and hearts. But I do take comfort in knowing that we tried our utmost best to give them as lives that were as good, comfortable, and full of good experiences as possible. But we also can’t imagine our lives without a dog or two in it. Right now, we still have one dog with us, but hope to give him a new friend/companion/sibling/pack member in the near future.

So sorry for the loss of your sweet Simon! I can totally relate since Newton is our Namesake too and he’s an older cat. Right now we are just trying to cherish him and hope he is happy and healthy as long as he can be! I can only imagine how hard it must be for you right now. Your customer service is the best I have ever dealt with, when I have any questions or concerns…(usually when I’ve messed up an order)…I can’t imagine how many orders I have made and never one mistake (other than of course my own)
