4 Seasons of Crafting; ONE Stamp Set!
Hi readers! Happy Tuesday! I hope your week is starting off wonderfully! I’m always in AWE of what the always awesome Debby Hughes makes for her monthly creative uses posts. This month, she’s showing us how we can use a cone stamp all year long! I love it! Read on and enjoy!
Hi Debby here. We all know the Cone Building set is perfect for summer with cones and sundaes dripping melted ice cream in the heat of the sun :D However, with a simple rotation of 180 degrees the cone from the set quickly becomes a fabulous graphic tree for all seasons!
Thinking ahead to when the heat of the summer fades into the crisp fiery colours of autumn leaves, I stamped the cones in Lipstick Red, Orange Peel and Sunshine inks and die cut with their matching die. I used one of the small triangle shapes from the Cone Building set to stamp the tree trunks in Sparrow ink on a Giving Thanks die cut and then foam mounted the colourful trees on top. A little twine and a few enamel dots finished off my autumn card.
Moving on to the chill of winter and I chose icy colours of Cloudy Sky, Caribbean Blue and Soft Navy paired with a swoosh of embossing paste through the Falling Snow stencil and glittery Maryanne Snowflakes. Shhhh, but I think this one might be my favourite!
Once the snows of winter have melted and the first shoots of spring appear the colours change from icy blues to the sherbet pastels of Rosie Cheeks, Catkin and Melon. The trees are mounted on a Large Tag blended with Sea Glass ink and die cut with the sun from the Hello Sunshine Frame. This tag is in turn mounted on a second tag blended with Duckling ink to give the sun some colour and I added a Wavy Scallop Stitches hill too. Finally the sentiment comes from the Abby’s Spring Showers set and is stamped in Sparrow ink and trimmed in to a banner.
Before you know it it’s time for the ice-cream again and you’ve used the Cone Building set all year and got lots more value out of your initial purchase :D Thanks for joining me today!
