Send a Smile Just Because: Featuring NEW Pinkfresh Studio!
Hi friends! Happy Sunday! I’m delighted to welcome special guest Kathleen Schmelz to our blog today to share a gorgeous project from the newest Pinkfresh Studio collection, Homespun with Heart! Read on for all the details and enjoy!

Hi crafty friends! It’s Kathleen from Pinkfresh Studio here, and I’m excited to share a card created with products from our newest release, Homespun with Heart! This project features items from our brand-new The Stitch Edit line along with bright florals and soft ink blending for a beautifully handmade look.

For this card, I wanted to combine fresh, cheerful blooms with the cozy, nostalgic feel of a spool wrapped in colorful lace. Even though the finished design looks intricate, it actually came together quite easily with very little stamping—mostly ink blending, die-cutting, and layering.

I began with an off-white cardstock base that has tiny colored flecks throughout to enhance that homespun feel. Behind the spool, I tucked in florals from Bloomsmith Florals, blending Clementine, Sparkling Rose, Raspberry Bliss, Coral Reef, and Passion Fruit for the petals, with Spanish Moss and Olive on the leaves.

The focal point is the Large Spool stencil and die set from The Stitch Edit. I ink blended it with Warm Buff and Doe, then stamped subtle details from the Heartmade Details stamp set in Doe to give it extra character—there are so many ways to customize this look with the Heartmade Details stamp! For the lace, I die cut three pieces from the Heritage Lace die using cardstock blended with Lemon Whip, Peach Fuzz, and Sparkling Rose, wrapped them around the spool, and threaded a coordinating ribbon through the center before adding it to the card front.
To finish the design, I layered the die-cut florals behind the spool for added depth, hot-foiled my greeting with the Room for Joy press plate and coordinating die (there’s also a stamp set available), and added a few gold Metallic Pearls for a final touch of shine.

I hope this inspires you to mix stencils, dies, and ink blending for layered designs that look complex but come together quickly and easily.
Be sure to check out the rest of the Homespun with Heart release while you’re there—there are even more products in The Stitch Edit line (you won’t want to miss the beautiful scissors and those adorable buttons!), along with additional product suites featuring playful fruit and floral illustrations and a collection of versatile frames that are perfect for all kinds of projects.
