Challenge: Simon brand products

There is just one rule this week: Use any one Simon Says Stamp brand stamp, stencil, ink pad, cardstock, die, or kit on your project! It can also feature other things – just be sure to let us know what Simon brand exclusive product(s) you used in your creation this week.

Michelle loves exploring new ways to use shapes.

The Exclusive Shaker Kite from Simon Says Stamp is adorable on its own. There’s no doubt about that. But the shape and angles had me intrigued. This week, I created a set of tags using those angles and shapes. The background of paints and inks includes a stamp from the 2015 Correspondence Set by Tim Holtz. A nod to the kites original origins.

Andrea painted up some snazzy journaling cards.

I have become a believer in pocket scrapbooking! When I was looking through my dies, I realized that the Simon Says Stamp Circle Card Border die, along with the Simon Says Stamp Circle on a Line die, would fit perfectly onto some journaling cards for pocket scrapbooking. I used those dies, along with the Simon Says Stamp Circle Friends stamp set to create a few fun cards to use.

Anna-Karin needed to make some sweet cards.

I needed to make a bunch of cards, and simply folded up gelli printed papers as my background. The backgrounds were given even more interest with Simon Says Stamp Seeing Spots stencils and Rock Candy Distress Glitter. These fun balloons were made with the Balloons and Patterns stencil set. I used die cuts as sentiments, such as this Happy word, and to embellish some of the cards.

Sandra is crazy about the hop to it collection

I love the Hop to it release from Simon Says Stamp and especially the Artful flowers! For the background of this tag I used Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio Distress Spray Stain and colored the edges with Walnut Stain. I love the effect of White Embossing around the black flowers.

Emma’s card is packed full of some of her favourite Simon Says Stamp products.

I loved this super cute stamp from the New Beginning stamp and die set and I had so much fun creating this card where she is floating on die cut Chevron Clouds set against an inky background created using Distress Inks and a little bit of “stamping” using the Ring Cluster Stencil. To complete my card, I added lots of layers and texture using wire thread, tissue tape and die cuts from the Tim Holtz Scribbles and Splats die set.

Ashli was inspired by one of her all time favorite Simon Products this week…

The Clustered Leaves Stencil is one of my most favorite Simon Says products! Combined with some Prismacolor Pencils, I created a lovely background for my layout! A little stamping with the Simon Says Drawn Hearts Background Stamp completes the page.

Suzz was flying high using the Simon Says Stamp Let’s Go Fly A Kite set on her layout this week.

I have been singing the Let’s go Fly a Kite song for weeks as my DH and myself watched Saving Mr. Banks the other day and really enjoyed the movie. This inspired me to create a layout with my youngest at Disney posing with Mary Poppins. The layout uses the Ranger Distress Inks Abandoned Coral and Cracked Pistachio to add a touch of spring in the background following the colors in the photo.

Meihsia was inspired to create an art journal page with her favorite stencil, stamp and dies from Simon Says Stamp.

On this art journal page, I used my favorite Simon Says Stamp products such as the Stencil Mosaic Heart, Feather Craft Dies, and Life Family Love Craft Dies. I especially love the new Falling Stars Cling Stamp so I stamped it on the background and embossed the stars with Ranger Embossing Powder Gold.

I (May) have a birthday this week.

Shameless plug for my own birthday? Why not! Well the perfect card begins with a new Simon background stamp – one that looks amazing with Ombre ink. Inspired by the lovely shades of mint I found some lovely Crate Paper bits to layer onto my card. Now just one thing left to do: decide who to give this special card to!

As always, Simon Says Stamp is giving away a $50 gift voucher that will go to a random entry chosen by random generator. To qualify all you need to do is create a new project that ties in (in any way!) with our theme and post it, along with a link back to this challenge, and add a link here. This challenge will end at 11:59pm on Sunday May 17th Eastern time. We will also be choosing some of our entries to put in the spotlight – a special honor where we talk about why we loved that entry in particular and award a special badge too! For the full rules, read the “challenge rules” posted in the side-bar here on our blog.
