Art Journaling with Shari Carroll: Foiling with Transfer Paste
Welcome everyone and happy Sunday!!
I’ve been playing in my small Dylusions flip journal trying out some foiling. I used the DecoFoil Transfer paste with the Bouquet of Roses stencil. Once the paste was completely dry, I covered it with a beautiful champagne colored heat activated foil from Couture Creations.
With the foil in place, I covered the page with parchment paper and ran it through the Heidi Swapp Minc Foil Applicator machine. The sheen is gorgeous sitting alongside the copper foil from the decorative tape from Prima.

June 2019 Brand of the Month: Lawn Fawn!!

To create the Pet Shop/Animal Rescue Peekaboo Backdrop card, I started with a piece of Lawn Fawn’s Fog Cardstock cut down to A2 size. I then pounced the Distress Oxide Ink colors listed in the supply list over the My Favorite Things English Brick Wall Stencil with a Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool to give the appearance of a store wall for the background. I then trimmed a piece of Lawn Fawn’s Vellum to A2 size and layered that over the brick stencil background to mute the pattern a bit as not to distract from the cute critters.
I die cut 3 of the Peekaboo Backdrops from Lawn Fawn’s Narwhal Cardstock and adhered them together using the Lawn Fawn Glue Tube. I die cut the scene building elements from Bristol Smooth Cardstock using the Lawn Fawn Simple Grassy Hillsides and Grassy Border Dies. I ink blended those using Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy Distress Oxide Ink to look like wood shavings/bedding. I also used the new Stitched Simple Wavy Borders Dies and inked that up with Broken China and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Inks for the water in the turtle cage.
I then stamped the images for my card using Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink and colored the images using Copic Markers. I die cut the images using the coordinating dies. I white heat embossed the sentiments from the new Critter Chatter: Pets and the speech bubble from the new Say What? Pets stamp sets using Lawn Fawn Clear Ink and Lawn Fawn White Embossing Powder and used the coordinating die to cut them out. I used a combination of foam tape and Mini Glue Dots to adhere the images and speech bubbles to the front panel.
