Tombow Marker Watercoloring with Kristina Werner – August 2019 Card Kit Inspiration
Hi all! Kristina here with some more card kit inspiration! I’ve seen a lot of amazing cards made using the Panda images from the Party Like a Panda stamp set from the August 2019 card kit, so I thought it would be fun to create a card using other elements from the stamp set! I used only the balloon stamps!
I started by stamping and cutting out masks with masking paper for all the balloons. Then I stamped them close together and visually overlapping. I used Versafine Onyx Black ink since it’s waterproof and I planned to watercolor. And I used Strathmore Bristol paper since that paper works well with watercolor markers.
After taping the piece to a hardboard, I painted the balloons and background using the Galaxy set of Tombow Markers. I filled in the “Happy” balloons with a Molotow Liquid Chrome marker.
To finish off the painting portion, I splattered some white gouache over the sky area to create stars, and added highlights to the balloons using a white Gelly Roll pen.
The very last step was to add a greeting. I stamped and white heat embossed “Happy Birthday” on black cardstock using Simon’s Tiny Words Birthday stamp set and adhered it to the watercolor panel using foam squares.

Party Like a Panda Slider Surprise!

Studio Monday with Nina-Marie: August 2019 Card Kit 3 Ways!
Hello crafters, its Nina-Marie here with you today, sharing 3 different cards you can make with our newly revealed August 2019 Card Kit, Party Like a Panda!
These cards are created with mostly kit contents, with just a few other simple supplies added in. I really wanted to demonstrate how versatile our Simon kits are and how you can use the contents for maximum creative results!
The first card I made features our Simon exclusive Picture Book Panda die and the super-fun ThermoWeb Flocking Sheets! I love how I could easily make a fuzzy-cute panda in no time at all by adhering the Flocking Sheets to the Stick-It adhesive, also included in the kit!
From the Party Like a Panda stamp set, I selected the disappointed panda for a belated birthday card – the deflated balloon and crushed present make me giggle! I broke out some of my favorite watercolors to color the panda and framed the scene with some of the custom Doodlebug pattern papers in the kit!
Finally, I wanted to use that cute, Picture Book Panda die again; but this time I cut it from the white and black cardstock in the kit! This card features a fun, see-through window design that really carries a lot of punch! I used some of the festive pattern papers for the inside of the card; on the inside, I have added a Simon exclusive Talk Bubble die cut, which is where you can write your message to the recipient. When the card is closed, the speech bubble on the front hides it (which is stamped with a greeting from the Party Like a Panda set). This unique layout is a fun and easy way to change up a typical card design!
