Happy World Card Making Day from Simon Says Stamp!
Happy World Card Making Day from Simon Says Stamp! It’s a holiday created just for all of us, and we’re excited to share inspiration with you!
World Card Making Day was created in 2006, and the original purpose was to kick-start the holiday card making season. Chances are you make lots of cards for Christmas, but we all know that those beautiful cards don’t come together in one night. So grab your scissors and adhesives and cardstock and stamps and make some cards today! Your family can fend for themselves, right? You deserve to celebrate.
Two of the best things about card making are inspiration and creative connections, and today we’re bringing you both with inspiring creations from designers from 5 different countries! You can find these holiday cards and many more inspiring projects using Simon exclusives from our 2019 STAMPtember® release in our Simon brand STAMPtember® gallery!
Let’s take a journey around the globe and be inspired. And stick with us, because there are prizes to be won, because every good holiday deserves gifts!

Representing Australia – Yoonsun Hur

Yoonsun created this pretty card using the Winter Floral Mix background stamp and Ho Ho Postage stamp set from our STAMPtember® 2019 release. The intricate Kate Snowflake and Rina Snowflake dies were previously release, but they look so magical with her beautiful coloring!

Representing Italy – Barbara Schiassi

Barbara’s rich and traditional design is anchored with the gorgeous Poinsettia background stamp. So pretty in blue, don’t you think?

Representing Russia – Olga Moss

Olga created this beauty using only one stamp set—Inside Christmas Greetings! The berries and leaves look so gorgeous surrounding the sentiment.

Representing Ukraine – Yana Smakula

Yana’s beautiful Christmas design features the Inside Christmas Greeting stamp set, too, but her pretty and sparkly background was created with the Holiday Foliage stencil which was part of our STAMPtember® release.

Representing the USA – Cathy Zielske

Cathy brought her signature clean and simple style to these two adorable holiday designs using her Simon brand designs—the Tabbed Sentiments Holiday stamp set, and her Ho Ho Deer Circle and Joyful Word and Shadow dies!
Oh my goodness, wasn’t that a fun trip around the world? Some great inspiration to get you going with all of those cards that you’re making today. You should probably get back to that, huh?

Distress Oxide Jack-o’-lanterns Stenciling with Kristina Werner

Hi all! Kristina here. Today I have a fun Halloween card for you! I used the Jack-o’-lanterns stencil to create a background of colorful pumpkins!
I started out ink blending the pumpkins onto black cardstock using four colors of Distress Oxide Ink: Carved Pumpkin, Wilted Violet, Peacock Feathers, and Twisted Citron. I used Versafine Onyx Black ink for the faces.

For all the blending, I used smaller Life Changing Blender Brushes. The Distress Oxide inks looked awesome on top of the black cardstock!
To finished off the card, I die cut the Boo die set and adhered it to the background using Gina K Designs Connect Glue.

You can pick up the Jack-o’-lanterns Stencil and Boo dies in the Simon shop. Thanks for stopping by! :)
