Yippee for Yana: Gold Tropical Card

Hi friends! Happy Tuesday! Please join me in welcoming special guest Yana Smakula back to our blog in her awesome bi-monthly series, Yippee for Yana! Be sure to watch the video for more information and enjoy!

Hi everyone, this is Yana Smakula, welcome back for another Yippee For Yana video!
In this episode, I will show you how to create a simple, modern greeting card using clear stamps and heat embossing technique.

I was doing some home remodeling, painting walls in our apartment in a different color and was also looking for some wall art and one of the art pieces I saw online inspired the design of the card I’m sharing today.
I picked Tropical Leaves stamp set, it’s an older set, yet still one of my all-time favorites for Summer, in fact, I recently shared another card using it on my blog. Another set I picked for today is Tiny Words.

To simplify things, I used a mini MISTI stamping tool to stamp images altogether and have the process go faster and smoother. First, I stamped leaves in clear embossing ink and heat set them in Antique Gold embossing powder. I love the look of this powder on kraft.
After the embossing powder was melted I decided to add another layer of embossing over it to make the leaves a bit thicker. Next, I heat embossed sentiments in white detail embossing powder.
One of the sentiments didn’t stamp perfectly, it was missing parts of the letters. I didn’t want to re-emboss it as on such tiny images there’s always the risk that the image will not re-align perfectly, so I just used a white Sakura pen and fixed the sentiments that way.

To complete this card I trimmed the panel down just a smidge and adhered it to a white card base. Next, I added sequins from Stay Gold and Gala sets from Simon as well as Sparkling Clear Jewels from Pretty Pink Posh. Have fun stamping!
