Distress Oxide Jack-o’-lanterns Stenciling with Kristina Werner

Hi all! Kristina here. Today I have a fun Halloween card for you! I used the Jack-o’-lanterns stencil to create a background of colorful pumpkins!
I started out ink blending the pumpkins onto black cardstock using four colors of Distress Oxide Ink: Carved Pumpkin, Wilted Violet, Peacock Feathers, and Twisted Citron. I used Versafine Onyx Black ink for the faces.

For all the blending, I used smaller Life Changing Blender Brushes. The Distress Oxide inks looked awesome on top of the black cardstock!
To finished off the card, I die cut the Boo die set and adhered it to the background using Gina K Designs Connect Glue.

You can pick up the Jack-o’-lanterns Stencil and Boo dies in the Simon shop. Thanks for stopping by! :)

Waffle Flower Bear Hugs Shaker Card
Hi friends! Happy Wednesday! Please join me in welcoming special guest Rebecca Keppel of Waffle Flower Crafts with this gorgeous shaker card using the adorable Bear Hugs stamp set from Waffle Flower! Be sure to read on and watch the video for more information and enjoy!

Hi everybody! I’m Rebecca with Waffle Flower Crafts and I’m super excited to be here on the Simon Says Stamp blog today, sharing a card video featuring some sweet stamps and dies from Waffle Flower! In this video, I am showcasing an easy way to create a faux shaker window that is the perfect backdrop for the sweet Bear Hugs Stamp Set.
First, I stamped the Bear Hugs Stamp Set with Copic safe ink and colored it in with Copic markers. The little critters are so cute and so much fun to color! I used the Matching Die to cut out my image.
Next, I grabbed a few Distress Oxide inks that mimic the color scheme from my stamped image and created an ink blended background. My favorite surface to ink blend on is the Waffle Flower Crafts Water Media Mat because the silicone helps hold my panel on place, while the smooth surface allows me to blend ink from outside the cardstock into the center without creating any harsh lines.

I cut two pieces of white fun foam down to a little smaller than 4.25 x 5.5 and die cut out a circle from both with the Waffle Flower Nesting Circles Die. I love that you get 17 circles in this set so you always have the size you need!
I adhered the layers of fun foam over the ink blended background. Then I sprayed some Therm O Web Glitter Dust inside the open circle. Before the Glitter Dust dried, I sprinkled some shaker goodies on top. The great thing about Glitter Dust is that it is both an adhesive and a glitter, so the shaker goodies stay exactly where you out them! I then adhered a piece of acetate on top to create the window.
After stamping a sentiment from the Bear Hugs Stamp Set on a 4.25 x 5.5 piece of white cardstock, I used a smaller circle from that same Nesting Circle Die set and cut it out of the panel. That way, when I layer the panel over my window, you can’t see any Fun Foam corners sticking out.
All of this was adhered to a top folding A2 card base. I love how the shaker goodies stay put and don’t “hide” at the bottom of the window!
Thank you so much for stopping by! -Rebecca
