One Stamp Five Ways: Autumn Leaves

Hi friends! How is it the end of October already?! We’re ending the month with some strong and BEAUTIFUL inspiration by the one and only Suzy Plantamura! Read on and enjoy!

Hello all! It seems like such a long time since I have done a blog post here because of STAMPtember. Today I have a “One Stamp, Five Ways” post to share with you using one of the stamp sets from the latest Make Merry release called Autumn Leaves. I was excited to use this set as I love decorating Fall leaves with glitter and lots of color. Here is an image of some of the leaves I embossed and colored ready to add to my cards (mass production!):

Now I will show you the five cards I have made incorporating some other Fall products from the release and a couple older products as well. I love using the old with the new to get the most out of my products and give them a fresh look!

This card is a classic Suzy card. I love using bright, unexpected colors, I love colored pencils, and I love doing what I call “random stamping”. I stamped all of the leaf images on white cardstock with a light color of ink. Using a MISTI, I just arrange them like a puzzle. I die-cut the piece with the largest A2 Thin Frame Die. I use this on almost every one of my cards so I can mount them on cardstock.

I colored all the images in with colored pencils. It’s a perfect way to entertain myself while sitting on the couch with my husband as he watches more sports than have ever been on TV at one time before! Being empty nesters suddenly has given me more time to color and I really enjoyed coloring this card! I used the new Warm Hugs die for the greeting and added some Sparkling Clear Sequins and Pink Orchid Nuvo Drops.

I used the SSS Wood Plank cling stamp with Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink for the background of this card. I pulled out a stamp set from last year that I had illustrated called Fall Critters stamp set. I stamped the moose and owl with black ink and colored them with Copic Markers.

I made these leaves with two colors of Tonic Nuvo Shimmer Powder – Falling Leaves and a new one called Sunray Crosette. I embossed the leaves on my watercolored paper with white embossing powder. I added some leaves to the background and then added my moose and owl on the top. I used a sentiment from the SSS Gratitude Strip Sheet from the November Card Kit die-cut with the Sentiment Label dies. I added a sequin from the Autumn Mix Sequins and some Mustard Gold Nuvo Drops.

I stamped an older cling stamp from the Good Vibes release called Center Cut Geometric Pattern. I love this one and have used it for quite a few card backgrounds. I stamped it with a light color of ink and colored it in with Fall colors of colored pencils. This was another one colored during sports watching with the husband. I stamped the squirrel from the same Fall Critters stamp set.

I embossed the leaves with SSS Antique Gold embossing powder and colored them in with Karin Brushmarkers. These markers are perfect for Fall leaves as the colors are very intense and blend so well together. I arranged two of the leaves with the squirrel in the center opening of the background stamp. I die-cut the Thankful For You die from the latest release from white and orange cardstock and layered that on the bottom of the circle. I added some more of the Autumn Mix sequins (from my November card kit).

This was a fun one to make! I cut a piece of white cardstock to be 3.5” x 8.5” for the front of a slim-line card. I then stamped the leaves on all of the edges of the card facing inward and leaving an opening in the center for a greeting strip. I used black ink, so I had to mask some of the leaves as I stamped. I just used a piece of torn scrap paper. I would tear off a little piece shaped like the side of the leaf and stick it over the last leaf stamped because I’m too lazy to actually use masking paper! Once they were all stamped I colored them in with Copic Markers.

Next, I die-cut this piece with the SSS largest Slimline Nested Rectangle Die. I used Nuvo Glitter Drops over all of the leaves to make them really sparkly! I let that dry and then attached this piece to yellow and burnt orange cardstock. I die-cut the Keep Smiling die from the Slimline Marquee Die out of the same two colors of cardstock and attached that to the center of the card. I added some of the Autumn Mix Sequins again!

I cut a piece of paper from the November Card Kit 6×6 paper pad called Four Seasons Autumn Paper Pad for the background. I used more of my leaves all embossed with Antique Gold Embossing Powder and painted with Karin Brushmarkers. I arranged them over the paper all facing outward.

I die-cut the Warm Hugs die from gold glitter paper and white cardstock and layered it in the center of the card. Guess what I added next? More of the Autumn Mix Sequins!
Whew – that’s it! I hope you enjoyed seeing 5 ways to use this Autumn Leaf stamp and die. I sure had fun making these Fall leaves and since I live in CA they are the only ones I have seen this season! Have a great week friends and thanks so much for visiting! Suzy Plantamura
