DIY: Upcycling Wrapping Paper
MERRY CHRISTMAS crafty friends!! For those that celebrate, all of us at Simon Says Stamp hope you have a very blessed and happy holiday today!

For the past few years, we’ve been giving you ideas to upcycle your holiday wrapping paper. I’m all about choosing my paper to match my home decor, mainly so I can admire the color combos! I also tend to go for the same color scheme of Silver, Red, and Black and add to my collection each year.
I’ve created simple trees that I can display from year to year. They fold flat for easy storage and will look great now and with the gifts under the tree next year.

This craft project is super easy so include the kids for some family fun! There are only a few tools and supplies needed.

I used a sewing machine for my trees, but you can hand stitch to get the same effect. I’ve filmed a video for you that shows the step by step process. enjoy!!

Crafty with Caly: Reverse Confetti Double Slider Deer Kisses

Hi friends! Merry Christmas Eve! We’re sharing a darling interactive Deer card in celebration of the season in the latest edition of our Crafty with Caly bi-monthly blog series with Caly Person! Read on and be sure to watch the video for more information! Enjoy!

Hi, Friends! It’s Caly with you today and I’m so happy to be here with you on Christmas Eve! Since it’s my officially last chance to create and share a holiday card, I’ve created a fun one to share with you today! I’ve used the Deerly set by Reverse Confetti and did some stamp surgery to create an interactive card.
The image with the deer kissing are attached, so I stamped the image twice and colored opposite deer to cut them apart. Check out the video below to see how I do this and create a double slider mechanism using simple dies you may already have on hand!
WATCH THE VIDEO:
I used Copic markers to color my images and to hide the image lines on the cut images, I used my Gelly Roll pen – this is a great tool for hiding color blemishes and bleeds too!

For my background, I used an A2 Masked Stencil to ink-blend the sky for my card using Tumbled Glass and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Inks.

I used a Stitched Slopes and Hills die to cut a hillside and to hide my double slider mechanism. Be sure to check out the video to see the process because it can be tricky if you’ve never done it before.

I love the way the two deer come together to kiss under the mistletoe! I hope you enjoyed this card too. Thank you so much for spending some time with me today. I wish everyone a safe and joyous Christmas! Love, Caly
