April 2021 Card Kit Inspiration with Kristina Werner

Hello, all! Kristina Werner here. I’m back with a card I made using the April 2021 Card Kit!
This card is all about the coloring! To make the coloring a bit interesting, I stamped the flowers from the Friendly Flowers stamp set on Neenah Desert Storm cardstock. This soft brown color gives a different tone to the usually bright Copic colors I chose to color the flowers.

I stamped the flowers with a Copic-friendly ink, Intense Black from Simon. Then I got to coloring! For the greeting, I used a black Copic marker to create a black “brush stroke” area. Then I stamped and heat embossed using the Ultra Fine Cream embossing powder included in the kit.
To finish off the card, I stamped the diagonal strip border stamp from the stamp set on the left and right sides of the card base. Then I adhered the colored panel on top.
I hope you enjoy today’s video! You can pick up the April 2021 Cad Kit HERE, or subscribe to receive this kit and future kits HERE.

Doodling with Debby: Watercolored Stamped Flowers
Hi friends! Happy Tuesday and please join me in welcoming special guest Debby Hughes in our monthly blog installment of Doodling with Debby! Read on and be sure to watch the video for more information! Enjoy!

Hello, it’s Debby here. Today’s video stamps flowers with Distress Inks to get a lovely soft watercolored look using the Blooming Meadow set. This technique is quick and easy and yet packs a powerful punch!

STEP BY STEP HOW TO:

- Add the outline images from the Blooming Meadow to a piece of Arches watercolor card and stamp in Nocturne ink.
- Align the solid flower images and ink in Speckled Egg Distress Ink, spritz liberally with water and dab off some of the ink before stamping over the outline images.
- While the ink on the flowers is still wet use a palette of Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress Inks to add more color.
- Repeat the process for the leaves with Bundled Sage and Forest Moss Distress Inks.
- Splatter liberally with white gouache, Perfect Pearls powder and left-over ink.
- When dry, die-cut with the matching dies.
- Cut a panel of Fog card and swipe Opaque Matte Texture Paste through the Spring Boho Stencil with a palette knife.
- Splatter with white gouache, Perfect Pearls, Black Soot and Speckled Egg Distress Inks.
- Add foam squares to the back of the flowers and arrange on the Fog panel.
- Add a Tim Holtz sentiment label with more foam squares.
- Add the Fog panel to an Ivory card base with foam tape.
- Embellish with Sea Breeze and Duck Egg blue droplets along with Eggshell pearls held in place with Gina K Connect glue.
- Finish with a few white gel pen dots to the flower centers.

Well, that’s me for this month. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial; you’ll find the video below. Thanks for joining me and I hope to see you next time for Doodling With Debby.
