Crafty with Caly: Lovely Layers Roses

Hi friends! Welcome to the latest edition of Crafty With Caly, our bi-monthly blog feature with Caly Person! Be sure to read on and watch the video for all the details and enjoy!

Hey, Friends! It’s Caly with you today, sharing a project using some Honey Bee Stamps products! Today’s card features the Lovely Layers: Roses die set. I’m a huge fan of the Honey Bee Stamps Lovely Layers line and am excited to share today’s card with you.
To start, I created my background using the Simon Says Stamp Circular Lace stencil. It is beautifully intricate and perfect for use thick pastes like the Nuvo Crackle Mousse I used today in Russian White over Neenah Dessert Storm cardstock. It creates a beautiful sheen and texture when it dries! If you’d like to see my process, I’ve made a video to share!
WATCH THE VIDEO:
After using the paste, I set my panel aside to dry while I worked on my Lovely Layers: Roses die-cut pieces. I die-cut my layers using Doll Pink and Cotton Candy cardstock and ink-blended the Cotton Candy pieces using Pawsitively Saturated Inks to give them more depth.
Pawsitively Saturated Ink colors used: Bubblegum, Sweets, Cheeky, Blush, Fairway, Field

At this point, my lace panel is dry. To give it a decorative/grungy border, I used the Tim Holtz Deckle Torn Edge Trimmer to trim 1/8” all around before I adhered my roses. To finish, I stamped and adhered a sentiment from the Honey Bee Stamps Inside Kindness set – I LOVE that there is a coordinating die-set for these sentiments!

I hope you enjoyed this delicate card! Thanks so much for visiting and spending some time with me. Have a nice day!~Caly

Art Journaling with Shari Carroll: Keeping the Peace

Welcome, crafty friends, and happy February! It’s Shari here today with an art journal page using my Dina Wakley 6×6 White Journal. I love the size of this journal because I can use a lot of my card-making supplies which fit perfectly on the pages.

I’ve played around with some Distress sprays and die cuts to create a colorful layout but I also allowed some white space to remain. I’ve left the die-cut leaves white so they pop against the background colors.

I love how my first layer of Dina Wakley Collage paper is still visible through all the layers of ink, the messages are the prompt and feeling for the page.

I have filmed the entire process which is below, I hope you enjoy it!
