Studio Monday with Nina-Marie: Glitter Stenciling 2 Ways

Hey there, everyone! It’s Nina-Marie Trapani here with you, sharing 2 different ways to use our Simon Says Stamp Rainbow Glitz Glitter Gels with Pretty Pink Posh’s adorable Butterfly Background stencil.

The ideas I am sharing can be used across many different stencil designs, but the butterflies look especially magical! In addition to the stencil, I also used Pretty Pink Posh’s Scallop Borders 1 and Hello Friend dies.

Each background is ink blended with Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Inks, then Rainbow Glitz Glitter Gels were applied over top for a glittery finish.

On the shaker card I also used the Simon Says Stamp Love You So Much die. Both of my cards feature greetings cut from Simon’s new Black Glossy Cardstock as well as a secondary greeting stamped from the Well Wishes set.

If you’d like to learn how both glitter paste techniques were created, be sure to watch the video below for all the details!

Did You Know: February 2022 Edition

Hello crafters, it’s Shari Carroll here with you! Today I have a new edition of our popular Did You Know series!

If it’s your first time seeing this feature, each month we bring you fun facts, creative tips, and even crafty hacks about your favorite supplies and brands; you can then use these awesome tips that you learn in your next crafting projects! Are you ready to learn some fun tricks? Keep on reading!

Today I’d like to focus on ways for you to find inspiration for your projects and cards. We are all about sharing samples here on our blog, but did you know you can also find inspiration in our store listing, galleries, and on social media?

STAMP INDEXING

We add indexing to our clear stamp sets and clings. This includes the name and product number for your reference. You can type the number into the search bar in our store and it will take you directly to the listing where you will find several samples using the stamps.

Tip: If a stamp number is followed by a “c”, this means it has a coordinating die.

STENCIL INDEX ETCHING

At the bottom of our newer stencils, we have the product number etched into the lower right corner. Not only is this handy for identifying the stencils, but it also helps you to know which direction it was designed to be. And like the stamps, you can enter the number in the search bar of our store to find amazing inspiration.

Tip: Since the etching does not include color, you can run paint or a Distress crayon over it to fill in for easier identification.

GALLERIES:

We have a gallery for our card kits, releases, and videos here on our blog! Did you know that? At the top of this page, if you click on “Galleries” it will give you a choice of the three.

In this case, I chose Simon Brand Gallery which takes me to the Simon Says Stamp releases.

From there I chose the new ” Good Luck Charm” image which took me to cards using the products from this release. This is the place where you can load your own inspiration to share and also see what others are creating!

SOCIAL MEDIA (INSTAGRAM):

We are always working hard to bring you as much inspiration as we can. If you’re on Instagram, you can find us HERE. We have set up the hashtag #sssunitedwecraft. This hashtag will take you to over 16 thousand card and project ideas from our designers and viewership all in one place. It’s fantastic!!

I hope these tips have helped you find inspiration for your upcoming crafting projects… Thanks for tuning in today and spending some time with me!

Bibi’s Butterflies Collection 3 ways

Hi friends! Happy Sunday! I’m delighted to share this fun set of 3 by Bibi Cameron featuring her gorgeous new collection from Spellbinders! Read on to learn more and enjoy!

Hello there, it’s Bibi Cameron here and today I’m passing by to share ideas using dies from a new collection I have designed in collaboration with Spellbinders.

The collection is called Bibi’s Butterflies and although this is a very feminine collection. for today I have projects with a more organic, bold, masculine look and feel.

Bibi’s Butterflies includes 4 die sets, 1 stamp set, and 1 stencil listed below:

Timeless and versatile, Bibi’s Butterflies’ main feature is the size of the nested butterflies.

You will find butterflies from 1″ inch to 5″ x 7 ” inches to create projects in many different sizes.

All these supplies coordinate together but they can also be used individually without losing versatility.

The solid butterflies are great tools to make card bases or main pieces for different projects.

You can build up any composition over the large butterfly wings.

Add accents to the bold wings by doing some hot foiling, stamping, stencilling, or simply applying colouring techniques involving any colouring medium you might like…. The sky’s the limit.

From all the possibilities, I used the largest die from the Butterfly Card Creator die set as a base for a die-cut scene.

I applied a simple partial die-cutting technique that allowed me to get that beautiful butterfly shape on the card front.

Then, I made a little scene using dies from the Silent Night Make a Scene die set by Spellbinders.

The little golden stars were made using the SSS You’re a Star wafer die.

For the sentiments, I used stamps from the SSS XL Love Greetings stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black Ink. Those were simply perfect!

Here is a very basic idea to use the butterfly frame dies to create shaped – windows.

I used the same supplies for the card above plus a 2-1/2″ inches die from So Many Butterflies die set, and a square die-cut pice made using dies from Fluted Classic Square die set.

When making the box above, I got a negative butterfly die-cut.

So I quickly put together this tag made using dies from SSS Nested Tags.

I simply used a flower and some leaves made using dies from the Butterfly Card Creator.

The sentiment is also from the SSS Beautiful Butterflies stamp set.

Thanks for having me today. I hope these easy and simple ideas can get your creative juices flowing. Big Hugs X Bibi
