Build Your Own Floral Bouquet for a Glorious Thank You Card Design: Crafty with Caly

Hi friends! Happy Tuesday! Please join me in welcoming special guest Caly Person back to the blog today with this glorious floral bouquet thank you card design! Be sure to watch the video for all the details and enjoy!

Hi everyone! My card today uses the Fresh Air Fall Flowers set. I’ve used some muted tones for my card for this fall bouquet.

I used the negative of a set of die-cuts to use as a template in my MISTI in order to stamp each of the images multiple times with less effort.  Be sure to check out the video to see it!

My sentiment is die-cut from the CZ Scripty Thanks die in Rose Gold Metallic cardstock.  For my sub-sentiment, I cut a sentiment strip from the Reverse Giving Thanks set.

I hope you enjoyed this simple stamped floral bouquet!  Thanks so much for stopping by today! ~Caly

HDSA Fundraiser! Please help us support this great cause!

Last year, we hosted a fundraiser for HDSA! (Huntington’s Disease Society of America) and you loved it so much that it had great success in raising almost $300,000 for HDSA. It is a charity that is very personal and close to my heart because it affects my family. Huntington’s Disease (HD) is a rare, genetic, neurodegenerative disease with a devastating impact on individuals and entire families. It is hereditary and it is terminal. Through the years we have met many wonderful people in the HD Community and when a cure is found it will bring enormous positive impact on families around the world.

So far, there is no cure for Huntington’s Disease. Today, there are approximately 41,000 symptomatic Americans and more than 200,000 at-risk of inheriting the disease.

HD is a rare, genetic, terminal disease that has no cure. It is like having Alzheimers, Parkinsons, and ALS simultaneously. Imagine losing your memory, muscle control, and ability to control your emotions all at once. It’s devastating for the individual and entire family. We need to find a cure. Children of an HD Parent each have a 50/50 chance of inheriting this disease.

Donations help support the families, doctors, scientists, researchers, everyone in the HD community who are working tirelessly for a cure.

It is with a sense of urgency that I am helping raise money for much needed research and development of a cure and to support other families of this deadly and horrific disease.

If you are interested in purchasing a box of goods, please know that 100% of the net proceeds of the box will be going to support the Central Ohio HDSA as we work to find a cure and support the HD Community.

If you are not interested in a crafty parcel, but would still like to make a direct donation without a special gift, that would be WONDERFUL, every penny helps. To do so, please click or tap HERE.

Layered Stamping to Create a Beautiful Autumn Cascade Card: Yippee for Yana

Hi friends! Please join me in welcoming back the oh-so-talented and amazing Yana Smakula! (Please note: our dear friend Yana is Ukrainian. To show support to our brothers and sisters in Ukraine, please see Yana’s post HERE.)

Hello, crafters, this is Yana Smakula for Simon Says Stamp! Welcome back for another Yippee For Yana video!

In this video I’m creating an autumn Thank you Card with the Simon Says Stamp Autumn Cascade stencil. The Autumn Cascade is a 2 part layering stencil, it is beautiful! I am also using the Thankful and Grateful Stamp set with the coordinating dies to make the sentiment for this card. My color combo today is not the most traditional one, I am using yellow, orange, and gray.

This is an easy project, it can be a one-layer if you want, by stamping the sentiment directly onto the background, or a two-layer card if you want to die cut the sentiment out and pop it up with foam adhesive.

I used Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock, cut to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″. The leaves in this stencil are all placed in a curve, or in an arch. I need to ink blend this twice to have an almost full background for my card. So I’ll have a leafy arch at the top of my panel and another leafy arch at the bottom of my panel, and they will form almost a circular leaf frame on my card if you will.

My idea is to blend each leaf with a different color of ink and I’m just using 3 ink colors – Citrine, Mandarin, and Earl. I have a blending brush for each color and I rotate through these 3 colors to ink blend the leaves. The gray color is probably somewhat unexpected here, it does look odd, but in the end, this color combination works beautifully.

There is a 2nd layer to this stencil and that adds detail and veins to the leaves. I picked just one ink color for the detail layer, it is dark gray Charcoal. This dark grey works really well with yellow and orange and of course the lighter gray. Yellow and gray always make a great color combo and adding orange here easily turned the yellow and gray color combo into a perfect fall combo.

To create the sentiment I stamped the word Thankful using orange ink and I cut it out using the coordinating die. Next, I added additional stamping to the background in Charcoal ink.

Lastly, I used a white gelly roll pen and I added white dots onto each of the berries to create a teeny tiny highlight, I also added some Aura sequins from Spellbinders to hide some of the ink smudges I ended up having on my cards. Have fun crafting!
