Candy Heart Colored Rosette showcasing NEW Tim Holtz Sizzix!

Hello! It’s Cheiron and I am happy to be back here on the Simon Says Stamp blog to share a new project with you. Tim Holtz has recently released some of my all-time favorite dies in the new Back From The Vault collection, including the Rosettes. Today I am going to be using the Tim Holtz Sizzix Vault Rosettes dies along with the hearts from Vault Lovebirds dies to create a special Valentine to go in a box of goodies for my niece. I know these are not always practical to mail, but they are perfect to go in a box with a gift or to give in person with some Valentine’s treats.
Let’s get started. To create these, I started by cutting out and assembling 4 pieces to create the rosette. I cut and folded all the rosettes pieces on the score lines then added scor tape to the edge of each one. I aligned the rosette on top of the non-stick craft sheet part of my glass mat, then pressed the rosette down flat on the mat and added hot glue from a glue gun to the center. Once the glue was added, I placed the seal on top and then placed some acrylic blocks on it and let it cool completely. Once the rosette was cooled, I used some Distress Inks and water to “watercolor” in the rosette. I smooshed some min ink cubes onto my glass mat, added a few spritzes of water to the ink and picked it up with a paintbrush to paint it. I used all the candy heart colors: Tattered Rose, Kitsch Flamingo, Squeezed Lemonade, Salvaged Patina, Dried Marigold, and Shaded Lilac. I also cut a heart from the Vault Lovebirds dies and painted it with all the same colors, leaving it mostly pink. I decided at the end to stamp the XOXO from the Note Quotes set in Distress Archival Ink in Black Soot, but you may want to do this before you adhere it to the rosette.
I stamped the XOXO from the Note Quotes set onto a 4 ¾ square background panel using all the same colors of Distress Ink. Then I used my paintbrush and water again to splatter ink on the panel and rosette and dried my panel with a heat tool. I inked the edges of everything with Kitsch Flamingo then Black Soot Distress inks then adhered my rosette to the panel using Distress Collage Medium. Once it was dry, I added the piece to a 5 x 5 card base. I hope you enjoyed making this fun card with me and hope you will try out one (or a few of these fun rosettes for yourself!).

Clean & Simple Faux Mini Envelopes Card with Kristina Werner
Hi all! Kristina here! The holiday season has passed and were heading right into Valentine’s Day and love cards! For my first card of the year, I created a clean and simple design using the new Faux Mini Envelope die. This little die really packs a punch when you create multiple envelopes!
I cut six envelopes out using the Faux Mini Envelope die, each in a different color of cardstock: Lipstick Red, Doll Pink, Cotton Candy, Lemon Chiffon, Surf Blue, and Lavender. Then I used the Slimline Patterns stencil set from CZ Design to add some patterns onto three of the envelopes. The others I kept plain.
For all of the ink blending, I used a slightly dark ink than the cardstock color. In the same relative order, I used Sangria, Taffy, Peony, Sunbeam, Surf, and Iris.
The card was finished off with a greeting from the My Love Greetings stamp set.
