Mixed Media with Shari Carroll: Love Bulb Dome
Welcome to the blog, everyone! It’s Shari here with a mixed-media project I created to give as a Valentine’s gift. It’s not difficult to make. It’s just putting things together to make something pretty and interactive. It has a combination of light-up and a shaker! Fun!!!
I’ve wanted to pair our Love Bulb die with some lights for a while and finally came up with this idea. I’ve used the Tim Holtz Reliquary Dome as my base, and added in some tiny lights and adorable Polymer confetti.

My card uses products from the February 2024 Love Story Card Kit. With the vintage designs of the images from the Slider camera and Typewriter, little coloring is required!

I stamped and colored the typewriter and typewriter paper and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then, I added some simple colors using Copic markers.
- Pinks: R81, R83, R85
- Browns: E0000, E40, E41
- Grays: C3, C6
The Slider Typewriter die cuts a slit into the typewriter image so you can turn your image into an interactive element with some foam strips from behind. Make sure you check out the video to see how this is done!
I finish the card easily with a piece of paper from the Simple Stories Vintage Love Story Patterned Paper pack and also attached two floating butterflies that I fussy-cut from the patterned paper. I hope you like it! Thanks so much for visiting today! ~Caly

I’ve used the Simon Says Stamp You’re My Gal stamps to reveal a funny message when the sweet ladies are pulled up.
