Glossy Watercolor Diecut Greetings with Kristina Werner

Hi all! Kristina here! Today I have two simple cards with greetings that really pack a punch! I love large chunky diecut greetings and this is just one way to make them stand out even more.
Before diecutting using the Hugs & Kisses and I Think the World of You die sets, I watercolored with Distress Reinkers. Then I diecut the greetings and applied clear embossing powder on top. In fact, I used four layers of embossing powder to create a super glossy and plump look!

To finished off the card, and to let those greetings really take center stage, I added a simple textured background made from Spellbinders’ Tufted 3D embossing folder and the same watercolor paper I used for the greetings.

Make Birthday’s Sweeter with THESE Ideas! Not a Card with Nina-Marie
Hey everyone, it’s Nina-Marie Trapani here with you and today I am showcasing new Pretty Pink Posh products that are PERFECT for making lots of birthday projects—including treat holders and tags!

These projects feature the Treat Box die, which I decorated with the new Birthday Candles and Birthday Cupcake die sets. Some of the tags feature new embellishments from Pretty Pink Posh and sentiments from our Simon Says Stamp Reverse Birthday Wishes sentiment strip collection.

I also made this festive tag using the new Layering Birthday Wreath stencil set and many of our Simon exclusive Pawsitively Saturated Inks. The greeting on my tag is from our Simon Says Stamp Make a Wish die set and I cut it with glitter cardstock.

Mixed Media Heart of GOLD Valentine by Cheiron Brandon!

Hi friends! Happy Tuesday! I’m delighted to welcome back special monthly blog guest Cheiron Brandon with a gorgeous mixed media Valentine to inspire! Read on and enjoy!

Hi there crafty friends! It’s Cheiron Brandon here and today I have a special mixed media Valentine card using the heart from the From The Vault Rosette dies that I created for one of those friends that has a heart of gold. This card is not super practical to mail but would be great in a package, or with a box of sweet treats, which is how I plan to give it.

To begin, I cut a panel of Distress Watercolor Cardstock to 4 ¼ x 5 1/2. I added Distress Opaque Texture Paste through the Valentine stencil using a palette knife. Once my paste was dry, I sprayed my panel with water and then added a mixture of Distress Spray Stains and Oxide Spray moving them around with more water before drying the panel. Once my panel was dry, I added some stamping from the Faded Type set using Distress Archival Ink in Ground Espresso.

Then, I mixed up some Gilded Foundry Wax with a bit of Isopropyl Alcohol and splattered it on my card with a paintbrush, then heat set it with my embossing tool. I also added black and white splatters using Distress Paints in Picket Fence and Scorched Timber. I trimmed the panel to 4 x 5 1/4 and used my Paper Distresser tool to rough up the edges and then inked those with the Ground Espresso Distress Archival Ink.

To create the hearts, I cut 3 of them out of Metallic Kraft Stock, folded them on the score lines and then adhered them with Distress Collage Medium. I wanted to add an extra layer of shine, so I misted the entire panel with Distress Mica Spray in Tarnished Brass. Once that was dry, I adhered the inky panel to a white card base, then adhered the hearts to the panel with Distress Collage Medium.

To complete my card, I stamped and embossed the Love You sentiment from the Noteworthy Set onto a strip of Simon Says Stamp Dark Chocolate Cardstock. I love all the sparkle and shine on this card and I can not wait to share it with someone special!
