Ink Blended Floral + Die Cut ‘Miss You’ Card: EZ with CZ

Hi friends! Happy Thursday! Please join me in welcoming back special guest Cathy Zielske with our latest edition of EZ with CZ! Read on, and be sure to watch the video for all the details! Enjoy!

Hello crafty friends! Today I’m adding some ink blending to colored cardstock die cuts using the sweet new Iceland Poppies set for a quick and easy way to boost the dimension and look of florals.

This is a technique that requires no fancy skills! Just a small blending brush and a bit of ink in the same color family as your cardstock, just a shade or two darker. It really is amazing to see the difference a little ink can make.

For my greeting, I thought that the Little Banners Basics were the perfect accompaniment to the Iceland Poppies florals.
Here is my tutorial showing you how easy this is to do:

To finish off the design, I used the Nested Domed Arches to create a matte gold frame, which really ties the design together, along with the Aqua Pigment Gilded spatter.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I’ll see you back here next month!

In a special celebration of this fun release, we would like to welcome special guest Chari Moss to our blog to showcase a sweet thank you card she made using the new coloring stencils! Enjoy!

Hello Crafty Friends! Today I have a project using a brand new product from Lawn Fawn! We are introducing new coloring stencils to allow you to use your fun ink colors for stamped images! We have three sets for our first coloring stencil launch, Critters in the Desert, Treat Cart and the one I used for my project today, Whoosh, Kites!

I love that these new stencils make coloring in images super easy and fast. What I also love I that you can use any color ink to stamp the image! No need to worry if the ink is alcohol marker friendly or not. You can see on my project I used Jet Black for my mice and kites but I used Lawn Fawn Forget Me Not blue for the clouds and Lawn fawn Jalapeño green for the grass before coloring them in with a lighter shade.

I wanted to bring in all the colors of the kites into my sentiment as well. To do this I ink blended white cardstock with the same colors as the kites and then used the Giant Outlined Thanks die to cut out my custom rainbow gradient paper. Of course I used white for the backing piece so the letters stood out. I love this big bold sentiment.

The background is cut from a piece of Pint-Sized Patterns Summertime 12×12 paper. The subtle patterns in this collection make them great fro backgrounds. I especially love this blue with the circles that look like bubbles floating through the sky. I popped my images and sentiment up with foam adhesive for added dimension and then embellished with Champagne Glitter Drops.
