Dare to be Different: Get Unique Designs by Cutting Apart Images. Get Crafty With Caly Using Graceful Flowers!

I’m sharing a card today using products from the August 2024 Card Kit. It’s loaded with awesomeness and I hope you’ll enjoy tricks for cutting apart the main image on the Graceful Flowers stamp set to create a unique design for your card!
I began by embossing the large floral arrangement from the Graceful Flowers set on watercolor paper that was included in the kit. I embossed the image with gold embossing powder, heat set it, then proceeded to watercolor the image.

After watercoloring and setting the image aside to dry, I also did a watercolor wash over another strip of watercolor paper using pink, purple, and green watercolor paint to use on the Beautiful Buttercup dies. Die-cutting these with watercolored paper will keep the look of stamped and die-cut images continuous – don’t be afraid to use/mix both! I also stamped and embossed loose images from the Graceful Flowers set on vellum as filler images. It gives the card a delicate touch!
Today’s card is 5″x7″-sized. A white 5″x7″ card base is included in the August 2024 Card Kit! To get an embossed panel that perfect mats the card base, I embossed a 4.5″x6.5″ panel using the Blossom Swag Embossing Folder. I adhered it to the card base and added the gold Nested Domed Arch Frame to give the background more interest.
Next, I cut the foliage from the flowers of the painted floral image to shorten the pieces so I could arrange them to fit on my card. The full length of this image better fits a slimline card, so cutting it a part allows me to use the images on smaller card panels and makes my card design unique! I attached the images with 3D foam squares (black is included in the August 2024 Card Kit, too!). I added my watercolored images first, then the vellum pieces, then the Beautiful Buttercup die-cuts. To finish the card, I added an embossed sentiment from the Graceful Flowers set. Dies are not included in the kit, but can be purchased separately.
