Today is the DAY! It’s time to Create Together with the one and only Tim Holtz and our star student and fearless founder, Heidi, in the fifth edition of our virtual class series, Create Together. This special class is extra exciting—it’s Tim’s first ever LIVE virtual class, and we’re celebrating with a festive Holiday Collage Christmas in July theme. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun and watch today, July 11th, 2025, at Noon ET on our Simon Says Stamp YouTube channel. We hope to see you there!
Missed the homework? Here’s a recap!

The Holiday Collage class is all about creative choices as we explore artistic compositions using various imagery and elements. Tim would like students to become familiar with your idea-ology paper elements by opening each package (keeping them separate from one another) and sorting them into various piles, following the basic outline below of “what to look for.”
Please note: You do not need to sort exactly as Tim did. There is no right or wrong way—do what makes sense to YOU, the maker. The hardest part might be choosing favorites from each package and placing those on top of each pile, but don’t worry—the option to change your mind is always open!
EPHEMERA: Group larger pieces together, medium pieces, small words, decorative words, border strips, small numbers, labels, decorative labels, botanical elements, and create a miscellaneous pile.
LAYERS EMPORIUM: Group frames together, larger pieces, medium pieces, thin borders, wide borders, gift tags, and create a miscellaneous pile.
LAYERS + PAPER DOLLS: Group larger pieces together, botanical elements, borders, decorative elements, and sort Paper Dolls by size.
BASEBOARDS + TRANSPARENCIES: Group windows together, doors, decorative elements, word strips, and sort transparencies by size.
