image00

Seeing all of the amazing cards and projects featuring the Simon Say Stamp brand that are created by you, our customers, is super fun for us! We love seeing what you are creating. ‘Spotted!’ is a monthly feature on this blog that highlights the talents of all of you!

Today we are excited to introduce you to 5 designers who shared their work and caught our eye for the April 2015 ‘Spotted’ post!  We send each of them a little something special for being “spotted.”

We found inspiration in these cards; we hope you do too!

Broni Holcombe

WOW! This card created by Broni Holcombe is spectacular!  Just look at her watercolor technique; we must say it is quite impressive! She used our Wishing Sentiments set to complete this lovely card that was spotted on her blog.

Melanie

Look at all these magnificent die cuts by Melanie-Jane! We think it is so creative how she used both our Falling Hearts and Sending dies!  We spotted Melanie-Jane’s lovely creation on her blog.

Lunarea

How ridiculously cute is this card made by Elle Lindgren?!  This creation using our Abby’s Spring Showers stamp caught our eyes instantly with its simple yet colorful layout; from then on it was love! We found this sweet card on Elle’s blog and in our Hop to It 2015 Gallery.

Penny Ward

Be Strong! Be Fierce! This endearing card created by Penny Ward says it all! She used our Work Out stamp to create this boxing gal. We spotted this inspirational card in our Flickr group and on Penny’s blog.

Elizabeth Sarkisyan

Check out this beautiful card created by Elizabeth Sarkisyan! She used both our Stitched Circles die and New Beginning set to make this beauty, which can be found in our Hop to It Gallery, Elizabeth’s Instagram feed, and on her blog.

Birthday by Altenew

Hi readers! Happy Sunday! We’re so happy to welcome back guest designer Jennifer Rzasa to our blog today with a fresh take on Birthday card design using Altenew stamps! Read on for a write up on how you can create this beauty for yourself!

 DSC_0198-2

Good morning! This is Jennifer Rzasa, and today I’m sharing a card using Altenew stamps.  To start, I created an A2 sized side-folding card out of SSS black cardstock.  To prevent any shine along the fold, I creased it with my Teflon Bone Folder.  Next, I used a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock, cut just smaller than the front of the card, and embossed the woodgrain from Altenew’s Wood Pallet Background in white.  Since we will be watercoloring, you could also use watercolor paper.  The embossing acts as a resist, so the design shows through once watercolored!  I painted a free-form “blob” of color using my Cotman watercolors in shades of fuchsia, blue, and red.  The watercolor panel was then mounted to the card with foam tape.

I stamped my sentiment, from Altenew’s Birthday Greetings, onto white cardstock and die cut it with Circle Stax 1.  I also die cut a black and white striped patterned paper from Teresa Collins, and layered that on top of the first circle for added interest and contrast.  The circle was mounted to the card with foam tape.

To complete the card, I embossed “to a dear friend” (also from Birthday Greetings) onto a strip SSS black cardstock, and cut a notch in the end to form a banner.  For even more dimension, this strip was adhered with foam tape as well. Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my card, and a big thanks to Simon Says Stamp for inviting me over to their blog today!
