Stamped on Color

Hi everyone! Always thrilled to stop by!

I’ve brought a couple cards to share with you today. Both of these cards were made with the Ranunculus stamp set, which is quickly becoming one of my favorite stamp sets from Technique Tuesday.

I am the first to admit: I’m somewhat challenged in the coloring department. Markers and me? We just don’t have a great relationship

What I love about this stamp set is that it’s pretty friendly to the a “not such a great colorer” girl like myself. Of course, you can get amazing results with the Ranunculus with markers, but you can do a lot with it with minimal coloring skills to.

Check this out. I didn’t even use markers here!

I used the back of the flower stamp to stamp the shadows on this card here. If you’ve never stamped with the backside of a clear stamp, I challenge to you to do it. It’s so fun!

I set the stamp onto my block with the sticky side up. I inked it up and stamped onto cardstock. Between colors, I did a good scrubbing of the stamp. After I completed the shadows, I cleaned the stamp again. I set it right side up on my block and stamped the flowers with black ink. Easy peasy!

I just love the end result of this one!

Nobody fall over, but I did use markers on this card. I didn’t want to go too far out of my comfort zone so I stuck with a couple nice neutral gray tones.

I stamped the flower in black and then colored it in with gray markers. Rather than using markers to add additional color to the card, I did so with some enamel dots and patterned paper from the Summer Vibes collection from Simple Stories. I think those little touches added just the right amount of color!
Thanks for having me, friends! Hope to see you again soon!

Hi readers! Happy 4th of July! If you’re reading as a US citizen, we’re celebrating our day of Independence and I’d like to say on behalf of the entire Simon Says Stamp Team, we are very grateful to each and everyone that has served in every shape and form! In this spirit, we asked the always fantastic Laura Bassen to make a card for us to showcase with this theme, and this is what she came up with! A combination of embossing paste, From Us stamp set, Diagonal stripe stencil, and of course the Falling Stars stencil!

Don’t forget to watch the video (& sing along ;))! Enjoy!
