Paper Hug 2 by Lucy Abrams for SSS

Hello. Today I have a super clean and simple card to share with you that I created with a mix of Hero Arts and Simon products. This cute little bear stamp from Hero Arts Oscar Cut Outs by Lia set is perfect for all sorts of cards, so I decided to crate an all occasion happy mail card for a friend. I added sentiments from Simon’s Sending Happy Thoughts and Paper Hugs sets, and gave my bear a tiny little heart too. The blue patterned paper from American Crafts Project Life Inspire pad creates a lovely soft backdrop for my little scene. Thanks so much for stopping by today. See you again soon.

New Designs from Mama Elephant

Hi readers! TGIF! I’m so happy to be sharing with you this adorable card using new Mama Elephant stamps and dies by our guest designer of the day, Elena Roussakis! I love the texture she added to the background, and her coloring is just flawless! Enjoy!

Hi there! I’m so excited to be guesting on the Simon Says Stamp blog today. I crafted a fun card using new Mama Elephant stamps sets: tandem ride and tandem extras. I just love these fun critters with their huge heads!  I decided to create a little scene for the bike riding friends, by way of a sun ray stencil and some embossing paste.

If you decide to try and re-create this card, just be warned that the stencil’s rays don’t actually reach to the edges of the card. But the fix is simple: just let the first layer dry while you color images, and then come back and stretch them out with a second coat of paste.

Once all of the layers of embossing paste were dry, I used a very light blue Copic marker (BOOO) to add shading between the rays. I also used a colorless blender (O) to soften the edge of the blue streaks.

For the focal image, I did some masking to make it look like the little mouse (with her gigantic ears) were at the forefront. Then, I used the partial die-cut technique to have the whole image cut out as one unit. I love how clean it looks without the white border around each critter!

To finish things off, I created a mint-green hill for the bike to roll on, and stamped the sentiment (from Tandem Extras) directly on it.

I hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by!
