World Cardmaking Day!
Hi readers!! Happy Saturday to you and HAPPY WORLD CARDMAKING DAY! What better way to celebrate, than with the wonderful and talented Kelly Rasmussen and a handmade card made by her with Hero Arts and Simon Says Stamp exclusives!
***Don’t forget to read this whole post for a chance to win a $100 gift card to our store!!
Hi everyone! I’m excited to be here today and share a card with you using new products from the Hero Arts holiday collection.
I’m a huge fan of word dies, so I couldn’t wait to create with the Joy Stamp & Cut set!I started out by creating a white plaid background on kraft cardstock using the Candy Stripe Bold Prints. I stamped the image once straight on the cardstock, then turned it 45 degrees and stamped it again. Such a simple and a fun way to stretch your stamps!
Next, I die cut the word “joy” from the plaid panel. Then I created a cluster of pine branches and leaves across the panel using the Winter Greens by Lia ink cubes and mounted the piece on a a panel of Simon Says Stamp Lipstick Red Cardstock. I also die cut the word “joy” from that same red cardstock and inlaid it into the stamped panel. To complete my message, I stamped and white heat embossed one of the coordinating sentiments from the Joy Stamp & Cut set.
I popped up the focal piece on a card base made from Simon Says Stamp Woodgrain Cardstock, which I thought coordinated perfectly with the pine branches. And then I added some random white dots with a white gel pen and covered the word “joy” with glitter using the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Marker.
