Hello Foxy

Hi readers! Thanks for stopping by today :) We’re so excited to welcome back the fabulous Jennifer Jackson of Newton’s Nook to our blog! She is such a fun designer and she so graciously made two cards for us to showcase on the blog today!

Hello! This is Jen from Newton’s Nook Designs and I’m SO EXCITED to be featured today! I’m sharing one of my favorite new stamp sets that I designed for this holiday season called “Fox Hollow.” I am in love with these cute little fox images because they are just so fun to color and create winter scenes with! I just love the striking color combo of the orange fox with green and white accents for holiday and Winter cards!

Directions:

For this fun Fox card I wanted to create a light and airy winter scene! I started out by using the Simon Says Stamp Falling snow stencil with some Bo Bunny glitter paste! I love the soft glittery snowy sky! Then I layered a couple of snowbanks created from the Neenah White cardstock. I just used a scissor to cut these out freehand. I stamped the “Happy Winter” from the Fox Hollow stamp set on the front snowbank. I stamped three trees  and fox from the Fox Hollow Stamp set, colored them with copics and die cut them with the coordinating Fox Hollow Die Set. These trees are perfect to tuck behind the layers of snow! I used the fox for the focal image, centering him on the front of the card! I love this fun winter scene!

Directions:

For this sweet and simple foxy card, I started with a panel of Canson watercolor paper.  I cut out a heart using the Sizzix Heart Framelit die and held it lightly in place as a mask on the watercolor paper while I colored around it using shades of green Zig Clean Color Brush markers. I stamped the “Hello Foxy” sentiment in the middle of the heart with Archival Jet Black ink. Then I stamped the fox couple on a separate piece of watercolor paper using Archival Jet Black ink and colored the foxes with Zig Clean Color Brush Markers. I love how vibrant these color while still giving a watercolor look! I finished off the card by adding a bit of glitter to them with a Wink of Stella clear glitter brush. I love the bit of added sparkle!

workitwedbanner

Hi readers! Happy Wednesday! Welcome to Work It Wednesday for October 2015!

In case you’re wondering what ‘Work It Wednesday’ is, let me explain:

On the last Wednesday of every month (or towards the end of the month ;)), we want to see what you’re creating! The Simon Says Stamp community is so very talented, and we want to see more of your cards and projects every month.

We thought this would be a great way for all of you to ‘stretch your creative muscles’ and share what you’ve been working on. So we’ll give you a little challenge each month, and you’ll have until the following month to share what you’ve made. Please limit entries to 3 per month.

Each month we’ll pick a few random participants to win a Simon Says Stamp grab bag!

The projects and cards that were shared for September were so great! We loved seeing all of your favorite stamps in last month’s challenge!

Do you want to see all of the cards and projects that were shared for September 2015 Work it Wednesday? Check them out!

The following three participants were randomly chosen to win a goody bag from Simon Says Stamp:

Cris!
Pam Sparks!
Kristinasartcorner!

Please email [email protected] with your mailing address and she’ll get your prize sent out to you.

Now on to this month’s challenge! Our challenge will be to make a Thank You card! We are getting in the spirit of giving thanks this time of year and thank you cards are always good to have on hand!

Once you’re done creating, share your project below!

What are you waiting for? WORK IT! ;)
