Studio Monday with Nina-Marie: Cuddly Critters for Mom
Hi there everyone, it’s Nina-Marie here with you for a brand new Studio Monday post! This week we are featuring Simon Says Stamp products in a sweet, mom-themed card using new stamps and dies from our most recent My Favorite release!
For this card I’ve pulled out the adorable Cuddly Critters, Cuddly Critters Accessories and Mother’s Day Zingers stamp and die sets. I love the fun greetings included in the Mother’s Day Zingers; they are so fun! I chose to use the “you’re my favorite mom” greeting, as this would allow me to have the flexibility of being able to use this card at any point in the year and just just for Mother’s Day.
The critters from Cuddly Critters are so super cute and I couldn’t resist the chubby koala bear! As I was making the card, my original intent was to just use the koala; however about halfway through, he was looking quite lonely, so I gave him a little mouse friend from Cuddly Critters Accessories… and I think he looks much happier now! ;)
If you interested in the Copic colors I use in the video for coloring in my images, I have them broken out for you below:
- koala: C00, C1, C3, C5, C7, R20
- mouse: E50, E30, E33, R20
- grass: YG23, YG05, G07
To see how I’ve put together this entire card, be sure to check out the video below! If you enjoy, make sure you give the video a “thumbs up” and subscribe to our channel for more weekly inspiration!

Have You Tried Card Hanger Dies?
Hi friends! Our crafty pal Laurie Willison produced some very cool dies to keep your card front & center when presenting a gift, and we’re honored to be carrying them in our store! Check them out!
Hi there! It’s Laurie from Soapbox Creations. Stopping in today to share with you a little about my Card Hanger dies, now available at Simon Says Stamp!
As card makers, we pour our hearts into our cards and sometimes, in giving a gift, the card gets lost in the shuffle….or at least inside the bag! So many times, I have tried to find a way to make my card work as the decoration for the gift bag. And this Card Hanger Die does just that! This die cut allows you to take your beautiful handmade card and showcase it right there on the front of your gift. It also gives you a decorated gift bag, all in one!
There are 4 styles of the card hanger. Rectangle, Decorative, Scalloped…which all hold a top-folding, A2 size card. I also have a Stitched Mini die, which will hold a 3 inch card.
This video will show you the dies and how easy they are to use!

Weekender with Wanda – My Favorite Things Spotlight – Flowers!
Hi crafty friends! Welcome back to the latest edition of Weekender with Wanda here on the Simon Says Stamp blog! So happy to have you here for a part of your weekend. Did you have a great week? What are you working on in your craft room right now? I’d love to know! I am busy trying to re-stock birthday cards in my stash. I seem to have used them all! So this weekend I thought I would share a birthday card idea and feature one of our favorite companies – My Favorite Things. I combined some florals, a pretty alphabet font, and plaid all into one bright and cheerful birthday card creation!
I used the gorgeous Modern Blooms stamp set and dies to make a pretty handful of sunflowers. Normally, when I use this stamp set I make all different colors of flowers. I was thinking it might be cool to make them all the same this time. I used the largest bloom in the set and used traditional sunflower colors of yellow, orange and brown. When I layered my paper I thought the plaid was a perfect match!
I stamped and die cut my flowers out of the Modern Blooms stamp set (with matching dies) and set them aside. I love this new Rounded Rectangle set of stacking dies so I used that as my white layering piece. I die cut out some bright yellow Stitched Alphabet letters to spell H-A-P-P-Y! I stamped my sentiment in Intense Black Ink for some contrast. The sentiment is from the Adorable Elephants stamp set. I thought the font matched the die cut letters nicely. (Fun tip – combine die cuts and stamped sentiments together for a graphic look)
My leaves were stamped in two different colors of green and layered underneath the flowers with foam tape.
You know I always love some twine and enamel dots for an accent! This twine is from Lawn Fawn and the enamel dot is from Doodlebug! You can also see my paper layers here – White A2 card base, a bit of yellow, then plaid. Delicious!
Here is a close up of my flower cluster on the top. I used three of the sunflowers and then tucked in some leaves behind.
I hope this card made you HAPPY today! These bright sunshiney colors make me smile! Hope you have an amazing day and I’ll see you soon right back here! (FYI the next three Weekender with Wanda posts will be on Sunday!)
