The card I’m sharing for the blog hop was made with the beautiful Brush Art Floral stamp set. I saw this one at the Altenew booth at CHA in January and wanted it right away! Pretty, soft brush stroke florals. That’s always a good thing! I used some of my favorite colors of Distress Inks to make a vintage inspired card.

I inked the large rose image with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink and stamped it directly onto watercolor paper. Then I stamped the leaves in Crushed Olive Distress Ink. I took my water brush and wet the colors and moved them around the paper to look as if they were watercolored. Next I took the smaller stamped pieces and stamped them in Candied Apple Distress Ink over the Lipstick ink. Then I blended some more with the water brush. You can see that adding the second color really gave the rose some depth.

I used the Label Love stamp set to make a crisp black sentiment for my card. Then I had fun layering pretty vintage papers and a doily. I gently inked the edged of all of my paper panels with a sponge dauber and Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

I used four copper brads to ground the bottom layer. The layer with the flower on it is adhered to the card with foam tape.

Hi readers! Happy Thursday! We’re back with the super fun & talented Yana Smakula with a unique take on our Old School sunglasses die! I just love how she created them with black paper to give the look of real sunglasses! The Big Add Ons circle was one of the main components for the background, and to top it off one of my favorite sentiments from our very popular Choose Happy stamp set!
