Studio Monday with Nina-Marie: Encouragement Cards for Kids
Hi friends! Thanks for tuning into week 3 of the Studio Monday with Nina-Marie feature! This week Nina is back with three adorable encouragement cards. I think they could also be great cards to give to teachers! Read on, and enjoy!
Hi everyone it’s Nina-Marie here today…welcome back to Studio Monday! For today’s video tutorial, I’m going to be sharing some inspiration on pairing the new Better Together and Scandinavian Prints stamp sets from Neat & Tangled to create fun encouragement cards for kids!
The adorable children images from Better Together are so sweet, and I love how each kid is holding their own little furry friend. I did all the coloring of these images using Copic markers, which I will be walking you through on the video. For reference, you can see the colors broken down below:
Girl with dog: RV10, RV23, R27, R46, R59, E33, E37, E47, R20, C3, C5, C7, 100, E0000, E51,E21
Girl with owl: E0000, E00, E21, E23, E17, E18, E37, E47, E84, RV00, R20, RV52, Y00, Y11,Y06, BG0000, BG01
Boy with fox: E00, E21, E57, E47, E49, Y38, YR15, YR68, R46, R59, R89, YR20, YR82, YR12
I also did some watercoloring using Prima’s Watercolor Confections (the Classics set) and a Penny Black Inc. stencil to create a whimsical background for these little kids. I love the uneven texture of the dots, as it matches perfectly with the style of the children.
I’ll be walking you through how I created this background -as well as the entire set of cards- in the video! Be sure to give it a “thumbs up” if you enjoy and subscribe to our YouTube channel for more weekly inspiration!
Thanks for stopping by today and have a happy week of creating! :)
xoxo, Nina-Marie

Weekender with Wanda – Wild Beauty Notecards!
Hello everybody! Happy Saturday! It’s surely been a fun and fabulous week around here! Do you love the new “My Favorite” release that came out this week? And how about the awesome blog hop!? This release is so fresh and pretty. Perfect for Spring! I have made about 10 projects already with it. I’m so blessed to be able to do what I do, and to share with you all. Today my post is featuring more of the new release with some fun and happy note cards and matching envelopes. These Wild Beauty stamps are divine! This project I’m sharing would look pretty in so many color combos. I chose a retro inspired color palette of mint, coral and yellow. Let’s get started!
Here you can see my note cards and the envelopes peeking out from underneath. I used the brand new Simon Says Stamp Exclusive die called You Are My Favorite! I die cut it out of the center of a piece of crisp white neenah cardstock. Then I used the Wild Beauty stamp set to mix and match flowers on the white panel with different inks. I let the colored inks dry completely before using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink for my outline stamps.
After I finished my stamping, I used matching colored cardstock to make my card bases – one mint and one coral. I mounted the white panel to the card base using foam tape so that the die cut area would be up off the other paper. This still allows for easy mailing, but gives some dimensional interest to the cards.
I clustered my flowers in a little group together and then added some green leaves to fill in.
Since these are clear stamps, you can perfectly line up the black outline with the color underneath. However, I chose to slightly offset my outlines to make it feel more free form and fun!
I added a few clear gems to the cards as the last step in the process! You know I love a little sparkle!
I often forget to stamp my envelopes… It is so easy to grab a few envelopes when you already have all the stamps and inks out and ready to go. This just makes it so much more fun to get in the mail! And I love that it all matches so nicely.
What is YOUR favorite thing from the new release? I cannot pick! I love it all. I know you will have fun stamping with these pretty florals. I hope you have a fantastic weekend! Thank you for spending part of it with me here on the SSS Blog.
