Studio Monday with Nina-Marie: Mini Honeybee Tag Set
Hey there everyone, it’s Nina-Marie here with you today… welcome back to Studio Monday! For my video tutorial this week I am featuring some of the new and fabulous stamp sets from Newton’s Nook Designs; Tag Sampler and Winston’s Honeybees!
Tags are such a fun project to be able to create and really add a special finishing touch to any gift. I’ve noticed though that a large majority of us crafters don’t always make very many tags… until Christmastime rolls around that is (and then our craft rooms become a card and tag making factory, LOL)!
The tags I’ve created here are perfect for adding to gifts, putting onto cards as little embellishments, using as ornaments, writing little notes on the backside… so many options! And I love the miniature size of these tags too; they are about 2 1/4” by 1 1/2“.
The tag die that I used today is from the Tag Time Two die set (also by Newton’s Nook); this tag set came out a while back but coordinates perfectly wit the new Tag Sampler stamp set! One of my favorite features of the die is that it die cuts the hole in the top of the tag for you at the same time the rest of the tag is cut… one pass of your machine and you have a fully die cut tag! How cool is that??
The images used on my tags are all from the Winston’s Honeybees stamp set; this set is SO cute! I love Winston holding the jar of honey… reminds me so much of my childhood where my mother would read stories of Winnie the Pooh to me. To color all my images I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Crushed Olive, Peeled Paint, Fossilized Amber, Mustard Seed, Broken China, Festive Berries, Worn Lipstick, Tea Dye and Gathered Twigs.
To see how I created these tags, be sure to watch the video below. If you enjoy, pleas give the video and “thumbs up” and subscribe to our YouTube channel! We post new video tutorials every week!

Weekender with Wanda – Happy Mother’s Day!
Hello friends! Happy Weekend, and Happy Mother’s Day! I hope you are having a delightful weekend so far. It’s time for the latest edition of Weekender with Wanda here on the Simon Says Stamp blog. In honor of Mother’s Day, I thought I would share a cute card for mom! My supplies for today are from our newest collection – My Favorite. I used the awesome new Simon Says Stamp Exclusive “Beautiful Ride” stamp set along with the “Mother’s Day Zingers” stamp set to create a bicycle scene just for the special moms in our lives.
I started building my scene using patterned papers. My card is a 5×5 inch square. I used the cloud paper from the Echo Park Happy Summer paper pack for my bottom layer. Then I used some pretty Lawn Fawn polka dot papers and the Stitched Slopes dies to make green grassy hills.
The matching dies for the bicycle and Cuddly Critters Accessories are so great! Everything cuts out so nice and crisp. I stamped my sentiment onto Neenah cardstock using the Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink. I mounted the bike and the sentiment to the card using foam squares.
I made the fun flag/banner using items from the Cuddly Critters Accessories stamp set. I wanted the flag to go the opposite way of the stamp…. So I stamped and die cut two flags! I cut just the banner part off of one, and turned it the other way and glued it to the pole. To add “mom” to the center I inked just part of a stamp from the Mother’s Day Zingers stamp set.
For the hearts and the flower centers, and the cute puppy nose, I added glossy accents to make them shiny! I put clear gems in the centers of the bicycle tires for a bit more sparkle.
I used Copic Markers to color all of the images in this little scene (colors are below). This looks like a lot of coloring, but the images are small, so it doesn’t take too long. It is really fun to be able to color customize your mom’s favorite flowers or your family pet.
A little bit of twine and a bow add another pop of a red accent.
I’m so glad to see you here today! Happy Mother’s Day to you and yours and many blessings for a nice week to come! See you back here next Sunday!
