Feature_master_winnie and walter-01

Hi crafty friends! Welcome to our 2nd to last STAMPtember 2016 brand feature. Today we’re so happy to be spotlighting the sweet and talented Shay and team behind Winnie & Walter on the blog today! In keeping in line with our features, we’re also offering a special limited time discount on all in stock Winne & Walter branded products with the code mentioned above. Be sure to shop early for the best selection as always! I was so blown away by the blended beauties Heather Hoffman created below! Read on for more details and supplies, and enjoy!

I recently stumbled upon a technique that I have loved and had so much fun recreating – using dual layers of embossing and distress inking to create a fun, dimensional, and fairly flat card that is easy to mail!

I put this set together with a couple gorgeous Winnie and Walter sets – In Bloom: Renee’s Leaves (perfect for fall) and The Big, the Bold, and The Blessing (with Winnie and Walter’s signature font that made me and so many others fall in love with them from the start)!

I used my Mini MISTI to easily create the four by doing them all at once. The secret is to stamp all the foliage in Clear Embossing Ink, then stamp the words in Black Versafine ink, THEN all at once, sprinkle clear embossing powder over all of it. This way you have one layer of embossing, but the sentiment can stand out from the leaves behind it.

Here is a closer look at what you have – the leaves are almost invisible at first!

And then like magic, when you add the distress ink blended over the top – the leaves pop out white! I played with distress inks until I found a few combos I liked, then used my foam blenders to apply the ink. My favorite paper for this technique is SSS White 120 lb Cardstock – it is so super smooth that the distress inks blend over it beautifully, and it is thick enough to stand up to all the heat from the embossing without warping too bad.

Once that was done, splashed some water over each of them, as well as some white paint splatters by thinning down some white acrylic paint with water in a Mini Mister and flicking that on. I die cut them with the largest SSS Stitched Rectangle Die, and added a very thin black mat before mounting on white cardbases and adding a few Sparkling Clear Pretty Pink Posh sequins.

Here is a closer look at each of them – this first one uses Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin, and Candied Apple:

STAMPtember® Exclusive: Hero Arts!

exclusive_hero arts-01(1)

Hello friends!  Welcome to our STAMPtember® Hero Arts celebration!  Hero Arts is one of the original designer rubber stamp companies in the world.  In fact, Hero Arts was one of the first companies we began distributing almost 15 years ago!  Their recent Holiday collection has been one of the most popular I’ve ever seen. There is definitely something for everyone when you think about their high quality rubber stamps, luscious stamping inks, gorgeous envelopes, staple embellishments and dies.  Many of their products are made in the USA and they even carefully make their own rubber stamps!  CEO, Aaron Leventhal was recently interviewed by Online Card Classes and you can learn a bit more about the fascinating stories behind Hero Arts by watching the videos here:

Today we honor and celebrate Hero Arts with an exclusive stamp set designed just for you!  Available for a limited time, while supplies last, we hope you enjoy this Thanksgiving design!
