Messy Watercolor Technique

Hi friends! Happy Wednesday and thanks for stopping by today! I hope you are planning to join our Work It Wednesday challenge! Please join me in welcoming back special guest Amy Lee to our blog! She’s sharing some tips and tricks for a cool messy watercolor technique! Be sure to read on and enjoy! Thanks!
Messy Watercolor Technique

Hello friends! Today I am sharing my watercolor card featuring Simon supplies. I tied together rainbow colors with “believe in your dreams” sentiment and a carousel horse for a whimsical story. Doesn’t this card remind you of childhood dreams? I hope it does spark something inside of you!

Messy Watercolor Technique

To make this card. I first laid the gorgeous SSS Circular Lace Stencil on a piece of watercolor paper. Then, I ink blended on it with rainbow colors of distress inks as base (listed below). After that, I watercolored on it using darker shades of distress inks and added ink splatters. When everything is dried, I die cut the panel using SSS Basic Rectangles Die.

For the focal point of the card, I die cut more paper using the SSS Carousel Horse Die for five times and glued them together. I used Wink of Stella pen to add a lot of sparkle to the top layer. For the sentiment, I stamped the “believe” word from the SSS Believe Stamp Set using Versafine Onyx Black Pigment Ink. I then clear embossed it and die cut out using the SSS Believe Die Set. For the rest of the sentiment, I white heat embossed on black card stock.
To finish, I mounted everything in place using foam tape and Scor-Tape onto cardstock.
That’s it for today. Thank you so much for stopping by! Happy crafting!! :)

Work it Wednesday August / September 2017

workitwedbanner

Hi readers! Happy Wednesday! Welcome to Work It Wednesday for August 2017!

In case you’re wondering what ‘Work It Wednesday’ is, let me explain: On the second to last Wednesday of every month, we want to see what you’re creating! The Simon Says Stamp community is so very talented, and we want to see more of your cards and projects every month.

We thought this would be a great way for all of you to ‘stretch your creative muscles’ and share what you’ve been working on. So we’ll give you a little challenge each month, and you’ll have until the following month to share what you’ve made. Please limit entries to 3 per month.

Each month we’ll pick a few random participants to win a Simon Says Stamp grab bag!
The projects and cards that were shared last month were so great! We loved what you made, and we look forward to seeing what you make for this challenge.

Do you want to see all of the cards and projects that were shared for July 2017 Work it Wednesday? Check them out!
The following three participants were randomly chosen to win a goody bag from Simon Says Stamp:

Vinita Jain!
Rahmat!
Jamie Patsilevas!

Please email [email protected] with your mailing address and she’ll get your prize sent out to you.

Now on to this month’s challenge! Since next month is STAMPtember®… we’d like to see your favorite stamps come to life in a card, tag, scrapbook, or whatever you create!

NOTE: In special celebration of STAMPtember® this challenge will go on for two months instead of one! The winners will be drawn with a new challenge in October!

Once you’re done creating, share your project below!
What are you waiting for? WORK IT! ;)

NEW Fall & Winter Avery Elle Collection!

Hi this is Jamie from Avery Elle and I am so excited to show you a card I made with some of our new Fall Release items.  We have 13 new stamp sets, 16 new die sets and 7 new embossing powders that just released!! Woo Hoo!

To make this card I stamped and colored images from our new Festive Wreath stamp set using our New Moon Dye Ink Pad and copic markers. I then die cut the images and adhered them onto a die cut from our Burst die set.  This was so fun to make!!

NEW Fall & Winter Avery Elle Collection!

I hope that you get a chance to check out our entire Fall 2017 Release!  We hope that you love it as much as we do!!  Thanks Simon Says Stamp for featuring my card today! You are the best!
