Advent Calendar Extravaganza with Taheerah Atchia
Welcome to the blog everyone! Today we are part of Taheerah Atchias Advent Calendar Extravaganza! This is 25 days of inspiration with fabulous prizes along the way.
I have created two holiday cards for today, both using non traditional colors and non holiday stamps as part of my greeting. I’ve gold embossed the Simon Says Stamp Kaleidoscope background onto watercolor cardstock and painted with Daniel Smith watercolors. My first card features pinks and a hint of orange.
The painting technique I’ve used is wet on wet which allows the paints to flow into the recessed areas of the embossing.
I’ve used blues and teals for my second card and painted with the same wet on wet technique. I love how the colors flow together and create new mixtures.
I die cut the new Felicity Snowflake from white cardstock and glued it in place onto the painted panels. I’ve stamped “Happy” onto Desert Storm cardstock and gold embossed, the stamped a strip of white cardstock with Christmas to sit over top.
I have filmed a video of how these two cards came together. You can view it below or on our YouTube channel HERE.
It’s not a party without a prize – and with prizes every day there are several chances to win! Today’s prize is generously supplied by Simon Days Stamp so you’ll definitely want to win! Simply leave a comment on this post – then head back to taheerah-atchia.com and leave a comment there too!
