No Line Watercoloring with Smiling Set
Happy Thursday, friends! Please welcome back special guest Channin Pelletier to our blog! She’s sharing a completely adorable NEW card inspiration using a brand new stamp set from Waffle Flower Crafts! Please watch the video for more info, and enjoy!
Hello everyone! It’s Channin here and I am so excited to be back at Simon Says! In today’s video today I’m creating a sweet card with the new Smiling Stamp Set from Waffle Flower Craft’s April Release! This adorable set, illustrated by Flora Waycott, is perfect for coloring and I just adore these two kitties with their sweet expressions!
WATCH THE VIDEO:
First, I die cut an A2 panel out of watercolor paper using the largest die from the Lacy Layers Die set. Next, using a MISTI I stamped one of the kitties and a sentiment from the Smiling Stamp Set on the panel. I stamped the cat in Distress Ink Antique Linen, a light colored water-based ink perfect for no-line coloring, and the sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black, a waterproof ink.
Next, I smooshed various Distress Inks onto a sheet of plastic which I use like a palette and then painted the images and the background with the watered down inks. Once finished I set the panel aside to dry and then stamped the largest flower on a scrap of watercolored paper in some more Antique Linen, watercolored it and then fussy cut it out once it was dry. To finish up the card, I adhered the panel to an A2 top-folding card
base (4.25” x 11”, scored & folded at 5.5”) with Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue and then attached the flower with foam tape.
I hope you enjoyed today’s video and card, thanks so much for stopping by!

Flora & Fauna Unicorn Trio
Hi friends! Happy Wednesday! You don’t want to miss this magical trio of inspiration by Lara Di Re of Flora and Fauna! Read on for tips, tricks, and supplies! Enjoy!
Hi! This is Lara from Flora and Fauna and we are so excited to be guesting here at Simon Says with some new cards ideas from our latest release. This spring we have been inspired by unicorns, mermaids, rainbows and VW cars.
Our first card features our Life is Magical and Texture 5 clear sets and distress oxide inks in squeezed lemonade, spiced marmalade, and pickled raspberry sponged across the top of the card. We then stamped our texture 5 large background in Avery Elle’s green celery and the flowers in Versafine Black Oynx. For the unicorn, we used Versafine Black Oynx and then colored it in with a light pink colored pencil and used the Sakura glue pen to apply glue and then glitter to the top of the card. To finish we cut out the unicorn and attached to the card using the wobble spring and stamped our Life is Magical greeting underneath. So fun to watch the unicorn wobble!

For our next card, we used our Texture 5 and Texture 1 sets to create a background with Avery Elle’s conch shell and raspberry inks. We then cut out a mask and used a sponge dauber with Avery Elle’s conch shell and mustard seed ink to create a magical unicorn trail.
To make the trail glossy we spread out glossy accents over the colors and sprinkled glitter on top before it dried. Next, we stamped the unicorn from our Life is Magical set in Versafine Black Oynx and colored it in with a light pink colored pencil, glue, and then glitter. We then cut out the unicorn and attached it with 3D mounting tape and stamped our create your own magic with black ink to complete the card. We love using glitter!

Our final card is our Unicorn Bike Slider card featuring our Life is Magical clear set, colorful Distress Oxide ink, and mini star sequins! To make this card we first used Distress Oxide Inks in Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, Picked Raspberry, Twisted Citron, and Cracked Pistachio.and dabbed them onto plastic and then used the Tonic Watercolor brush set to paint a rainbow. We then die cut the slider using Memory Box’s slider die. We stamped the unicorn riding a bike with Versafine Black Onyx Ink and colored in with a light pink colored pencil. To make the flower bouquet we created tiny tissue paper flowers using a tiny circle punch out of pink tissue paper and scrunching it into flower shapes. We attached those using glue and cut and attached the unicorn to the slider die. To complete the card we glued mini star sequins and stamped the create your own magic greeting in black ink.

Altenew’s 4th Anniversary Blog Hop Day 1 + Giveaway

Welcome everyone to the Altenew 4th Anniversary blog hop!!! If you’re coming from the Altenew blog then you’re in the right place. As part of the celebration I have created a Spring card using the Altenew Wildflower Garden and Neighborhood stamps.
I’ve stamped my images directly onto some 49 and Market Vintage papers. This gives such a soft effect with the subtleness of the papers. I gold embossed Thank You and then added the message strip stamped in Cobblestone ink.
I’ve filmed a video of how I made this card. You can view it below or on our YouTube channel HERE.
