Work It Wednesday March 2018
Happy Wednesday, creative-peeps! Welcome to Work It Wednesday for March 2018!
In case you’re wondering what ‘Work It Wednesday’ is, let me explain: On the third Wednesday of every month (or towards the end of the month ?), we want to see what you’re creating! The Simon Says Stamp community is so very talented, and we want to see more of your cards and projects every month.
We thought this would be a great way for all of you to ‘stretch your creative muscles’ and share what you’ve been working on. So we’ll give you a little challenge each month, and you’ll have until the following month to share what you’ve made. Please limit entries to 3 per month.
Each month we’ll pick a few random participants to win a Simon Says Stamp grab bag! YAY!
The projects and cards that were shared for February were SO AWESOME! We were thoroughly inspired by all of your creative ideas, and we look forward to seeing what you make for this month’s challenge!
Do you want to see all of the cards and projects that were shared for February’s Work it Wednesday? Check them out!
The following three participants were randomly chosen to win a goody bag from Simon Says Stamp:
CONGRATS TO OUR WINNERS! Please email [email protected] with your mailing address and she’ll get your prize sent out to you.
Now on to this month’s challenge! We all have our favorite inks; Distress Ink, Oxides, dye ink, pigment ink, spray ink, specialty ink… the list goes on! We want to see you create a project using a fun inking technique! You could make an awesome spray ink background, a dreamy ink blended beauty, or perhaps an artsy ink smooshed design!
Whatever you create, make sure that the inky-awesomeness is the focus of your project! Once you’re done creating, make sure you link your creations below! Please remember to limit entries to 3 per month.
What are you waiting for crafters? WORK IT! ;)

Studio Monday with Nina-Marie: Washi Tape Sun Catchers
Hello everyone, it’s Nina-Marie back with you today and I am sharing a new DIY paper crafting project in celebration of National Craft Month! Have you ever noticed how pretty washi tape looks when light shines through it? It’s gorgeous effect! This made me think; how awesome would washi tape look as a DIY sun catcher? In a word, pretty!
I had a blast making these and really, you just need a few simple supplies I bet you already have on hand:
- washi tape (who doesn’t have a ton of this laying around??)
- a frame die of your choice (I featured the Wrapped Stitch Heart Frames, Woven Circle Ring, Floral Bloom Oval and Avezzano Butterflies frame dies from Memory Box)
- heat resistant acetate/window plastic
I want to mention the heat resistant acetate/window plastic specifically. Ordinary clear plastic sheets could potentially warp from the heat of the sun filtering through the sun catchers. Heat resistant will be able to withstand the heat and should not warp. I’ve had one of these sun catchers hanging in my window for about a month now and it gets direct sunlight every day from morning until late afternoon. I had used the heat resistant acetate to make that sun catcher and it has not warped at all.
These are so much fun to make and SO easy (plus a great washi tape stash-buster!). You definitely will want to watch the video to see how I made these cuties!
Thanks so much for tuning in today; I will see you again next week for a new Studio Monday tutorial!
