Tone on Tone Christmas Card
Hi friends! Happy Monday and Happy Waffle Flower release day! Please join me in welcoming back special guest Channin Pelletier who made this gorgeous tone on tone card! For more information read on and don’t miss the video tutorial! Enjoy!
Hello everyone! It’s Channin here with Waffle Flower Crafts and I am so excited to be here at Simon Says Stamp sharing a new card video featuring the new Holiday Thanks Stamp Set from Waffle Flower Crafts’ November Release!
I have loved the simple yet stunning holiday cards that Yana Smakula creates and today’s card was greatly inspired by her beautiful creations. In today’s video, I will combine tone on tone coloring with heat embossing to create a simple yet elegant Christmas card!
First, I stamped and heat embossed the image and a sentiment from the Holiday Thanks Stamp Set onto colored cardstock. I then colored the heat embossed image in with Copic markers. To finish the card, I added a slight gradation by ink blending distress ink with a mini ink blender.
I hope you enjoyed my card and video! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Art Journaling with Shari Carroll: Using Photographs
Welcome everyone! It’s Shari here with an art journal entry featuring one of my favorite humans… Melody. I was inspired to use this fall photograph from last year to make something I’ll cherish as I go through my journal.
One of the things I didn’t want to do is ruin the photo, it’s the only one I have. So, I created a flip page where the photo is attached to a piece of acetate to protect it. If you’re not inclined to use photographs in your journals, you could create the same flip feature with a favorite piece of art or sentimental keepsake.
I started with a watercolor page of my Dina Wakley Media Journal by collaging some scrap papers from the Capture Adventures pack from 49 and Market (Love this paper)!!. I added some washed of Distress Paint in Hickory Smoke and Vintage Photo with drips. Once it was dry, I used Tim Holtz Butterfly Design Tape to hold the flap in place and to add some layers.
Die cuts using Tonic Copper cardstock really set off the color tones of the photo and adds a nice sheen to my page.
Under the photo flip feature, I’ve included a journaling card from the Tim Holtz Pocket Cards, perfect for writing out the details of this special memory.
