Color Coordinates With Shari Carroll
Hello everyone!! Happy Saturday! I hope you find some time to craft today. I created a new Color Coordinate combination for you which uses Purple, Greens, Blues and Black. I did something a little different this time where I blended my colors on cardstock using an Ink Blending tool, then used dies to create the elements of my card.
My son Scooter turned 29 yesterday ( Happy Birthday Scoot!!) and I wanted to make him a special card to celebrate the last year of his twenties! I love to make birthday cards and highlight the year of my victim. The Cathy Z Everett Numbers are one of those fundamental die sets that are the perfect size for cardmaking. It’s a bold font that can be used for Clean and Simple or Distressed and Vintage styles. After coloring paper with my inks, I die cut 3 sets of “29”.
I filled the black panel with alternating “29’s” cut from black and white cardstocks. I also used the Cathy Z “Dude” die for part of my message and stamped the Happy Birthday using the Messages For Everyday set.
I’ve filmed a video showing how I created this card. You can view it below or on our YouTube channel HERE.
This past March, I created a PDF of our past recipes that you can print out to create a booklet HERE.

*NEW* August 2018 Neat & Tangled is HERE!
Hi friends! Happy Friday! Thanks for stopping by our blog today! Please give a huge welcome to special guest Cheiron Brandon showcasing the brand new and beautiful Neat & Tangled product release for August 2018! Read on and enjoy!
Hi there crafty friends! This is Cheiron from the Neat and Tangled Design Team, and I am thrilled to show you some projects that I have made using stamps and dies from the August release. This month is also Neat and Tangled’s 6thBirthday and there is a whole lot of fun going on! The August release is full of fun stamps, dies and a new sequin mix that will help you celebrate any occasion.
The first four products work perfectly together. First up there is the Thanks So Much Stamp set which would be perfect to create a card on its own, but can also be used with the Gift Card Box die (which is perfectly sized to hold a gift card or other tiny treasures), the Gift Card Box die additions, and the Build A Tag dies.
I’ve created a little set using them all, incorporating some of the alcohol ink panels that I had on my desk. There is a clean and simple card using the Thanks So Much Stamp Set and the Gift Card Box die additions. I’ve also made a gift card box with the Gift Card Box die, the Gift Card Box Die Additions and the Thanks So Much set. For the final part of this set, I’ve created a cute tag from the Build A Tag Dies and the Thanks so Much set. As you can see with these four items, there is so much creative possibility. I’ve added some of the Party Mix Sequins to give them all a festive touch.
If you love coloring and florals you will love the Floral Frame and the Floral Frame dies! I loved working with these and the stamps are perfect alone as a one layer card, but certainly, are brought to life with some die cutting and dimension.
For my card, I colored and cut the frame out and added foam tape to the floral part of the frame. I also colored and cut several of the single flower images and layered them on top of the image I had already colored to give more floral dimension. All of this was adhered to a black cardstock panel, then onto a card base where I had added a black and white striped border to make it pop.
I hope you have enjoyed this little peek at the newest release from Neat and Tangled. I’d love to hear which is your favorite!
