Rainbow Bottle Brush Trees – Sparkly Holiday Magic!

Hi friends! Heather Hoffman here today to share some sparkly holiday magic with you! The Intricate Bottle Brush Trees die from the most recent release instantly made me think of a rainbow of holiday bottle brush trees. So on a recent evening, I pulled out those dies, all my scraps of Simon Says Stamp cardstock, my die cut machine, and some music fun music to listen to while I did a bunch of die cutting!

I cut each of the die pieces once from a lighter shade of each color, and once from a darker shade, then layered them together alternating which color was on top for a bit of variation. In the end, I had plenty of trees to create two cards, and two is always better than one anyway, right?

Once the trees were all cut and assembled, I wanted to add a touch of texture to the background, so I pulled out the Swiss Dots embossing folder from the Rainbow Splash collection. I love this embossing folder – it’s the perfect simple design that is so incredibly versatile! It’s hard to see, but once I embossed a panel of white cardstock, I tore off the bottom edge to add even more texture.

I adhered that embossed panel onto my white cardbase, then planned my arrangement for the trees on each card. Once I was happy with how they all fit on my card front, I picked them up with Press and Seal, added liquid adhesive to the back, and then pressed them into place – this allowed me to fiddle with the arrangement before committing and gluing it all down! I then cut the EZ Strips Vintage Christmas Reverse sentiment strips with the new EZ Strips rounded edges die, and popped a couple of those up with foam adhesive strips. I also added a few of the new Mini Stars Embellishments to the sky, adhering with liquid glue.

The final touch on these card was the sparkle! I pulled out my Glossy Accents and added it to lots of places on the trees, then sprinkled on some of the magical Tim Holtz Rock Candy Chunky glitter, shaking off the excess. Once that dried – the effect was PERFECT! This sparkly touch is truly what MADE these cards!

Do you like sparkly rainbow trees for the holidays? Or do you tend to gravitate to more traditional colors?
