Hi friend! Happy Saturday! With Valentine’s Day around the corner, we thought this fun little craft project would be a fun one to share to get your creative mojo flowing! Please welcome back special guest Richele Christensen to showcase a fun way to give little gifts showcasing the Tim Holtz Palette Fabric Collections! Read on and enjoy!

Hello friends! Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and what better way to celebrate then with a little project using the Tim Holtz Palette Fabric collection. These “My Funky Valentine” pocket hearts are perfect for adding treats like a gift card from Simon Says Stamp, chocolates, or any sweet treats for your favorite peeps. Gather your sewing supplies and Palette Fabrics in pink, red and even purple  for the cutest little hearts! Fat quarters will work beautifully and you can get two hearts from each fat quarter. So the question is how many will you make?

Print your FREE pattern from Lella Boutique by Vanessa Goertzen and cut out the pattern pieces using your favorite Palette Fabrics. The pattern “My Funky Valentine” is easy to follow with lots of step photos.

Press the pocket piece in half and add lace or trim. If you’d like to leave it plain just top stitch close to the top edge.

Layer the pocket over the heart right sides up then add the second heart right sides together.

Sew around the edge using a 1/4” seam allowance leaving a small opening about 1 1/2” wide.

Trim around the curved edges and snip the V of the heart being careful not to snip the stitching. I love the Tim Holtz Mini Snips Scissors for trimming seams and clipping thread.

Turn heart rights sides out. I like to use a chopstick to help get the point of the heart.

Stuff the heart with fiber fill stuffing and hand sew the heart closed.

Embellish as desired with Velvet Ribbon, buttons, Flash Cards, etc.
