Love Is Sweet

Hi there, readers! I hope you are enjoying your weekend! We’re back with more amazing inspiration from the magnificent Debby Hughes! She’s back with 2 new projects that are both so fun!

Enjoy!

Hello! Debby here and I’m delighted to be indulging in some new creative uses for my Simon dies and stamps today :) To get the ball rolling I turned my attention to the recent delicious Valentine’s release; oh my those mouthwatering hearts! With the food references front and center in my mind I took the Heart Trio and the Large Holiday Shapes dies and created a trio of strawberries to pop in a little jar tag using the Filled With Love stamps and dies.

To create the strawberries I die cut the hearts from Simon’s Lipstick Red card and ran them through the Berry Box from My Favorite Things to give a seed texture, then brought in some Barn Door Distress Ink around the edges for dimension. For the leaves, I cut stars with the Large Holiday Shapes dies from Green Leaf card, scrumpled them between my fingers and then added a little Forest Moss Distress Ink. I popped the berries into the jar with different thicknesses of foam tape then tied it all up with a little twine and a tag cut and stamped using the Filled With Love stamps and dies again :)

Next I wanted to play with the February Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp – such a beautiful kit full of florals and watercolours which I haven’t been able to put down! However, the stamp set I wanted to pull into this card was a nautical one; given a twist the wave border from Nautical Borders, stamped and heat embossed on vellum, became a subtle lace border.

The vellum overlays one of the gorgeous Basic Grey papers from the kit and also one of the ‘snippets’ from Elle’s Studio became the first part of the sentiment. It doesn’t show very well in the photos but it looks lovely in real life – ‘Happiness Found’ and then completed by ‘with you’ Basic Grey letter stickers stitched through.

The final touches were some Kelly Purky sequins in gray and satin white and a few glitter hearts cut using the Heart Wreath die.

Thank you for joining me today in another look at stretching your supplies and really getting the most out of your craft dollars!

Thanks for reading today and thanks so much to Debby for being our guest!
