Let’s Celebrate!
Hi readers! Happy Saturday to you! We’re back with our monthly installment of creative uses of Simon Says Stamp Exclusives with Debby Hughes! I don’t know about you, but I always look forward to seeing what she makes! This lovely lady is so creative!! Her creative uses make me smile each month! I hope you love this cute little jellyfish as much as I do!
Enjoy!
Hey there, it’s Debby here. When I get new supplies, such as the recent This Is The Life release, I’m always keeping an eye open for anything which could have an alternative use to the one intended :D From the new release I was drawn to the rounded wiggly lines of the scoop of ice cream from the Ice Cream Cones dies and their shape reminded me of a jelly fish! I had such fun creating this little guy! I started by water coloring a piece of Tim Holtz cardstock and then die cutting the ice cream shape. Then I went to town with some supplies I’m sure most crafters have stashed away; a couple of twists of wire with some small beads threaded on and some long feather filaments. When you move the card up and down the feathers flow just like jelly fish tentacles; who would’ve thought! I also have a confession to make; the stronger wire central core with soft feathery outer tentacles is inspired by commonly found actual jelly fish structure; I know I’m such a nerd! But if you Google jelly fish pictures you’ll see LOL.
I gave this little guy a watery home with the Waves stencil inked in Sea Glass and mounted behind a Soft Navy Circle Card Border die cut. I also cut a Sketchy Banner die from white card and stamped a border image from the More Sketchy Banner Greetings set in Audrey Blue and the main sentiment in Black. I added in a little ‘Hey’ speech bubble stamped again in Audrey Blue and foam mounted everything onto the panel. To keep with the party spirit I created another little water colour and die cut a small triangle from the Full Card Triangles die to act as a party hat. Oh and a party isn’t a party with out a little glitter and sequins!

Super creative! The jelly fish looks great…love the tentacles! Usually this time of year we have tons of jellyfish in the water, but because the water is still cold (only 69 degrees at the ocean) we really haven’t seen any! Thank goodness because I hate swimming with those critters, but yours I wouldn’t mind so much! Lol! Beautiful card!
