Holiday Edition! One Stamp, Five Ways: Holy Night

Hi friend! Please join me in welcoming back special monthly guest Suzy Plantamura with another fun rendition of “One Stamp, Five Ways” featuring our newly released Holy Night set! Read on and learn more! Enjoy!

Today I have a “one stamp, five ways” post to share with you using the new Holy Night stamp and die set. I picked this set because I love Christmas stamps that are about Christ’s birth. I thought this one was just so darling and couldn’t wait to work with it. I have 4 cards and 1 tag to share with you.

I stamped all the images in the Holy Night stamp set with Latte Pawsitively Saturated Ink (2 palm trees). I colored them in with Copic Markers and added some shading with colored pencils. I used a silver and gold Uniball for details. I stamped a sentiment with Versafine Ink. I die-cut all of them out with the matching dies.

I cut a piece of 3.5”x8.5” white cardstock. I applied Cookie and Gingerbread ink to the bottom and Sky and Dusk ink to the top. I then arranged all the images over it. I cut the buildings piece into two pieces in the center and added half to each side. This gave me room for a sentiment above the middle of the scene.

I stamped the angel in the stamp set with Latte Ink and colored her with Copics. I used White Blizzard Nuvo Drops over the wings. Glossy Accents and glitter would work the same way just to add some sparkle to them. I cut the “to the world” away from the “JOY” word on a stamp in the Shiny Baubles stamp set and stamped the “to the world” with Ballerina PSInk on a small banner.

I die-cut the Joy Cover Die from light pink and light blue cardstock. I glued them to a white card base using two of the frames, so the inside pieces were flatter looking “inlaid”. I attached the angel to the top right cover and the sentiment below her. I tied some white and silver twine around the left side of the card and added 3 sparkling clear sequins.

This is a 5×7” card as I wanted to add all the stamps in the stamp set with the buildings behind the scene this time. I applied the same color inks this time as in my first card: Dusk and Sky for the sky and Cookie and Gingerbread for the ground. I stamped all the images in the stamp set with black ink and colored them in with Copic Markers. I included 2 palm trees again.

I arranged all the stamps to create a scene. I framed it with a white frame from the A7 Frame Dies. I stamped a sentiment using black ink and attached that to the bottom. I added a few of the North Star Embellishment mix around the sky.

For the background of this card, I used the Wispy Pine Needle Frame Embossing Folder. I rubbed Cookie Ink on the entire thing and then Gingerbread ink over the embossed pine needles so they would look like hay. I got this idea from the talented Beth Opel, so thank you Beth! I also die-cut several of the Layering Pine Sprig Dies and inked them with the same colors.

I stamped the images with black ink and colored them in with Copic Markers. I attached them to the center of the bottom of the card and then tucked some of the pine sprigs (now hay) behind them. I colored the stars with a gold Uniball gel pen and added 3 to the top of the card. I embossed a sentiment from the Wrapped in His Love stamp set with Antique Gold embossing powder and cut around it (didn’t have the dies). I attached that to the top of the card.

I die-cut a tag using the Rounded Tag Wafer Dies and gold matte metallic cardstock. I die-cut an oval using a piece of white paper with gold stars on it from the new Lawn Fawn All the Sparkles 6×6” paper pad and a SSS Nested Oval Die. I attached that over the tag.

I stamped the angel and the Peace on Earth sentiment with black ink. I colored her in with Copics and then applied White Blizzard glitter drops on the wings. I added her with foam tape to the top of the oval and the sentiment above the oval. I added 3 gold stars from the Mini Star Embellishment Mix. I tied a piece of twine through the hole and then attached a large bow over it.
I adore this Holy Night stamp set and I hope you do too! If so, I’m hoping I have given you some new thoughts on how to use it. I never was able to fit the angel on a card with all the other elements, but I liked how she looked alone not competing for attention! This stamp set does such a good job at reminding us what the holiday is about, and I can’t wait to give my cards to some of my favorite family members! Thanks for visiting! -Suzy
