Grace Panel by Paula Cheney
Hi friend! Happy Thursday! I’m always delighted to welcome back the mega talented Paula Cheney as a special guest on our blog! She’s made a gorgeous new panel that’s perfect to display in your home or give as a gift! Read on to learn all the details and enjoy!

November is a month where many are focused on gratefulness. I wanted to take that thought a step further, so I’ve created a reminder for myself by adding the word ‘grace’ to my Etcetera Panel. My thought was that we all could use a “grace period”. I’m not talking about an extension on a bill, but a moment to pause and extend grace to the people who matter to you. A time to offer a long-overdue thank you or to extend genuine forgiveness. A physical reminder to pause and take the action that truly counts: to speak the words, send the card, or make the call that matters most.

Choose pieces from the Palette Ephemera pack to cover the entire surface of a Stampers Anonymous Etcetera Panel (6 x 8.25).
Once you have your arrangement, adhere each piece of ephemera with Collage Medium.
Turn the panel over and use a cutting knife and self healing mat board to cut away the excess paper.
Use a Mini Blending Tool with a Sanding Disk to smooth out the paper edges.

Turn the panel to the front again and brush on a thin layer of Collage Medium over the entire surface to seal the paper.
Once the surface is completely dry, scribble Walnut Stain Distress Crayon over the edges and on the seams between ephemera pieces. Rub the crayon with a damp fingertip or pounce here and there with a wet wipe. If you add too much crayon, pounce wet wipe over the surface to remove. Let dry.
Add 5- 6 small Cello Tape Stickers on the edges and seams of the panel so the ephemera appears to be taped together in multiple places. Set aside.
Gather Mini Stencil Chips to spell out the word GRACE. Combine the letters using scotch tape on the back side.

Turn word over and add 3D Foam Squares to the back.
Align the panel with the lines on the Studio Mat. Use a clear Tim Holtz Media Ruler and the lines on the Studio Mat to create a straight edge for the Mini Stencil Chips. Peel the Foam Squares and adhere the word to the surface. Set aside.
Using Black Soot Archival Ink, stamp Distress Watercolor Cardstock with floral image from the Stampers Anonymous Embroidery set. Repeat to get a second set of florals. Use the matching Simon Says Stamp Embroidery wafer die to cut out the two florals (so EASY!)
Color floral using Distress Crayons. Scribble crayons onto the Studio Mat, pick up with a damp Detailer Water Brush and color in the floral image. I used a combination of Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness for the leaves, Villainous Potion and Mustard Seed for the larger flowers and Salvaged Patina for the smaller flowers. Simon Says Stamp sells each crayon separately so you can pick and choose the individual colors you want!

Using your Tonic Snips, cut the flowers apart as shown.
Lightly ink edges of the die cuts using a Mini Blending Tool with foam pad and Gathered twigs Distress Ink.
Use 3D Foam Squares (thin and standard) to adhere florals to the Etcetera Panel.
Paint a Salvaged Heart with Distress Paint. I used Tumbled Glass but any pastel color will work for your panel.

Once the Distress Paint completely is dry, sand the edges with a Sanding Disk added to the Mini Blending Tool.
Add 3D Foam Squares to the top portion on the Salvaged Heart so it will sit at the same level as the bottom portion that is resting on the Mini Stencil Chips. Locate a purple butterfly in the Palette Ephemera pack. Adhere the body of the butterfly with Collage Medium and the wings with 3D Foam Squares so it appears to be flying away.
Cut a couple 2” pieces of Mummy Cloth. Lightly Ink with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. Once inked, shred the Mummy Cloth into strings.
Wad up into a few very small bunches. Add a touch of Collage Medium, then tuck into a couple strategic places behind the floral. I like to let it dry, then pull or cut away the excess. Less is more in this case!

Use Collage Medium to add Simon Says Stamp Dazzling Gems to the center of each flower. So pretty!
The very last step is to reinforce the theme with words from the Small Talk Sticker Book, “an open heart”. I used the leftover ink on my Blending Tool to age the paper, then scuffed and wrinkled it up just a bit before adding it to the Salvaged Heart.
