Art Journal Feature with Darkroom Door
Hi everyone and happy Saturday! It’s Shari here with a special art journal feature. Darkroom Door has created two stamp sets exclusively for Simon Says Stamp’s STAMPtember® event!
Love these stamps, so many possibilities! The one on the left is Warm Wishes and on the right is Enjoy The Journey. I’ve used a few stamps from each set for my art journal page today. I started with the flowers by clear embossing them on my background to create a resist.
I used some of the new Prima Arts Basic mediums to create some layers, and Dylusions sprays as paint. Once happy with my background, I stamped more of the Darkroom Door images with black ink over the top of all my treatments.
My Dylusins inks gave me a happy surprise, my brown turned out kind of purple when applied over the Crackle Paste. Delicious!!!
I shot a video of my process and this time I did it “live” since I used a lot of new product that needed some explanation. I’ve split it up in to two parts, Enjoy!

What an awesome mixed media piece for your journal. have you ever done this medium on canvas Shari? (just curious—I’d like to see some). Beauty is in the eye of the beholder…so they say….and I’m beholden. I really like this page.

Hi Shari. Love your art journal creation. I have been viewing some of your videos over on You Tube and I love all that your sharing with us viewers. I so love the loads of layering and texture that each creations provides and the videos are well designed and mastered. Love these new stamps and first time I have heard of this stamp company. Both sets are great and would be a nice addition to any stampers stash. Lol.
Wow! Gorgeous designs… I wouldn’t have paired those sets together, but it came out great! I’m learning so much from these Blogs, & becoming “braver,” or should I say bolder every day. Thank you for helping me think outside of my comfortable little box. ;)
