An Interactive Card for Spring featuring Lawn Fawn!

Hi friend! Happy Saturday! Please join me in welcoming special guest Catherine Cohen to our blog today with some bright and happy inspiration featuring newer released Lawn Fawn products! Read on for all the details and enjoy!

Hello Crafty Friends! Spring has arrived and today I’m excited to share a Magic Iris Shaker Card
featuring the beautiful Magic Iris Butterfly Wreath Add-On and I Like Big Butterflies set from
Lawn Fawn’s latest release.

To begin, I ink-blended an A2 white panel using Corner Rainbow Stencils and the Cloudy
Stencil
with the following Distress Oxides inks:

Rainbow:

  • Kitsch Flamingo
  • Dried Marigold
  • Mowed Lawn
  • Salty Ocean
  • Wilted Violet
  • Shaded Lilac

Cloudy Sky

  • Salty Ocean
  • Tumbled Glass

Next, I splattered the panel with gold metallic watercolor and set it aside to dry. Once dry, I die cut a stitched front panel using the Magic Iris Add-On. I adhered the negative background onto a white A2 back panel.

I then die cut and assembled the Magic Iris mechanism (Lawn Fawn has a great step-by-step
tutorial if you need guidance, Magic Iris Tutorial ). After assembling the mechanism, I ink
blended a matching a cloudy sky onto the front of the mechanism.

To create the shaker, I die cut a 3″ circle from white cardstock and ink blended a soft cloudy sky
for the background. I also die cut an acetate circle and adhered it to the three stabilizers on the
back of the Magic Iris mechanism. Using the stitched front panel as a guide, I adhered the ink-
blended background circle onto the card base. Then I adhered foam tape in circular shape and
filled the well with pastel and clear confetti.

Next, I applied foam tape along the edges of the card, leaving space along the sides so the
mechanism can move freely. I added glue onto the circle front and placed stitched front panel
over top.

For the focal point, I die cut the Butterfly Wreath and ink blended using the same Distress Oxide
inks as the rainbow background. I stamped and die cut two butterflies from I Like Big Butterflies
and colored them with Copic Markers listed below.

To finish the design, I stamped a “Thinking Of You” sentiment stamped in Deep Sea Ink on a
white banner and added a few crystal gems for some sparkle. Thanks so much for joining me today! I hope today’s card inspires you to add a little rainbow and butterfly magic to your crafting!
