Winter Woods with a Pop of Color featuring our January 2026 Card Kit!
Hello everyone! Heather Hoffman here today, and I had lots of fun playing with the elements in the January 2026 Card Kit: The Small Things! I used several elements from the kit to create this fun winter scene – that happy little red bird may be my favorite part of this entire card!
I used some of the La-La Land Crafts Winter Forest 6×6 pattern paper from the kit for the base to my scene, trimming it to slightly smaller than my A2 size white cardbase to leave a small border around.
Next, I die cut the fun Snowy Tree die, using white cardstock for the base layer, the included Sage cardstock from the kit for the detail layer, and pulled out some Spellbinders white glitter cardstock for the snowy die cut layer. I used liquid glue to adhere each layer, and my Embellishment wand to lift and place each piece in it’s spot. I then added that to my scene with foam adhesive for some fun dimension.
I decided to add that sweet little bird from The Small Things stamp set in the kit, and felt like this card needed a fun pop of color. I heat embossed it in white on a scrap of Lipstick cardstock from my stash, and then carefully fussy cut the image out (there are also coordinating dies available as well!). I tucked him into one of the snowy bits on the tree, and adhered with liquid glue. Finished off by stamping a sentiment from the stamp set, trimming into a banner and at an angle, then adhered that with foam adhesive on the card as well!
