Andrea made cards featuring some inspiring lyrics.

What a fantastic challenge theme!  Music is always somewhere in the background or forefront of my life and these cards pay tribute to some fine lyrics from the ever-talented Avett Brothers and Ben Harper.  Simon’s One With Nature stamp set is a favorite of mine which I use often.  I also love Dina Wakley’s Texture stamps.  And I could never be able to spell out anything without my go-to Hero Arts lowercase alphabet stamps!

Anna-Karin made an art journal page this week.

I made a happy page in my square Dylusions journal, pairing up Tim Holtz Umbrella Man with Singin’ in the Rain. The background was done with stencils and Dylusions paints. The ground was stamped with Watering Can ink, and I used the Spritzer Tool to create rain.

Barbara loves  Coldplay! Their music  and the graphic of the  latest album have been a real inspiration for her!

Before to tell you what song inspired me,  I have to make an introduction. My husband loves the football and I adore Coldplay! This year our passions came together on the day of the Super Bowl! The half-time show was fabulous!  Coldplay with their colorful choreography and their wonderful music inspired me! My Art Journal pages take shape in my mind with the title of their album “A head full of dreams”! I’ve used Dylusion paints with their vivid shades, a stamp by Tim Holtz and die “Sketch frame” from Simon Diecember to materialise my dream!

Cathie  was inspired by the song, “Beautiful Day” by U2,

BDFinal2

I created this bright and cheery canvas using Fresco Finish Paints and Jofy Stamps by Paper Artsy. These paints blend beautifully and the whimsy of the Jofy stamps make it easy to create something that’s sure to put a smile on anyone’s face.

Cheiron was inspired by one of her favorite Pearl Jam songs.

i am mine frame

I was inspired this week by the music playing in my studio as I was creating. I made this Framed Panel with Distress Paints and spattered on Black Soot Distress paint with a Distress Splatter brush to give it a grungy look. I added even more layers to my background with the Bubble and Stars Layering Stencils.

Emma
has fond memories of the song that inspired this layered canvas.

SongEmma

As a huge fan of the band Duran Duran, I just had to use one of their songs as my inspiration for my layered canvas and where better to start, than their first song…Planet Earth. I used my favourite, much used and definitely well loved Globe die as the shimmering, sparkly focal point of my project and layered it over a background created with Distress Paints and sprays. The stars are die cut and glittered with Vintage Distress Glitter Dust and surrounded by Moonshine sequins.

Kath was inspired with thoughts that Spring is on the way

Sunshine 1

I chose You Are My Sunshine, a song recorded by Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash, guaranteed to put a smile on your face on the dreariest of winter days. I used a much loved, very well used and one of my favourite Tim Holtz stamp sets Bird Crazy along with the brand new Wildflowers to create my wall hanger with Stormy Sky and Mustard Seed Distress Paints for a spring feel.

Lols was inspired by Adele and made a ‘Hello’ tag

DSC02941

I am a huge fan of Adele and her latest ‘Hello’ song. I used a Hearts Stencil to add texture with Embossing Paste and sprinkled some new Antique Gold Powder over the top before heating. This symbolises Adele’s old love, which is what the song is about. I used a Tim Holtz Butterfly Duo Die Cut and coloured with Squeezed Lemonade and Wild Honey Distress inks and then stamped some script over the top, I added a little Prima Rose to finish.

Macarena is Wishing You Were Here…

sim

Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd is one of my best songs ever… I made this project using the Pocket Watch Frame Die which is perfect for the theme. I treated it with gesso and structural paste using Art Is template. I love the hand  writting of this stencil. One side of the front element was covered by Crackled Texture Paste. Then all the elements were sprayed with Vibrant Turquoise ink spray and stamped with Carte Postale stamp By Tim Holtz. In the middle of the frame I put the fabulous globe from You Mean the World to Me Die-Namics embellished arround with Stitched Circle Stax Die-Namics. Now there is no chance to get out this song from my mind :-)

Maura is sailing south to visit the Southern Cross.

SouthernCross

One of my long time favorite songs is Southern Cross by Crosby, Stills, and Nash – it’s an oldie but goodie and brings out the wanderlust in me. Here you have it, from my imagination to my art journal, the big Dylusions Creative Journal that is. Lots of paint play in lovely blues and greens like Tim Holtz’s Distress Mermaid Lagoon (I mean really, how could I not use this one?),  Twisted Citron, and Dina Wakley’s Turquoise. Time to turn up the music and play.

Meihsia was inspired by the song “Here, there, everywhere” and created a mixed media canvas.

Meihsia Liu Simply paper crafts mixed media canvas song 600

My inspiration this week was from one of my favorite love song by Beatles. I created the texture on the background of this canvas using Modeling Paste and Distress Paints. After I attached the metal and Alpha Parts embellishments, I colored them with Simon Says Stamp Dye Inkpad and Distress Paints. Some beautiful Prima Flowers were added as the final touch.

Sandra’s spread was inspired by music notes
IMG_4882
Love listing to music, and therefor this spread contains lots of music notes. The large picture is from the Ephemera Melange, don’t you just love it? Speaking of love, did you see the new release of Simon Says Stamp: Reason to Smile? I used the Friendship Blooms stamp that I colored in with Black and Green aquarelle pencils, and made some accents with the White Gelly Roll Pen.

Zoey walks down the memory lane and make this art journal page

I used pieces of paper from My Mind’s Eye “My Story” paper pad and covered it with Dina Wakley Ranger White Media Heavy Body Acrylic Paints. Blended in a couple of Double Scoop Gelatos and used Dina Wakley Ranger Black Media Heavy Body Acrylic Paints through Donna Downey Mini Alpha Rerun Signature Stencil to add some interest.

So now it’s YOUR turn to get out your inks, paints and all things arty and start creating! We are looking forward to seeing what you make!
